Itchy hands and feet?

I can feel it coming on after I start itching the first time. It takes all my willpower to not continue itching or I end up with both hands and feet itching so much they burn. Often, I don't have that will power. Creams, etc don't work (I've tried) and I think it's because it is somehow internal - it's not the skin that starts the itch but beneath it? Perhaps just a lame guess. It is 2am and I can't sleep so I am here waiting for it to subside but I've had an epiphany... I am guessing a reaction of some sort. I have had 2 doses of Cipro (for unrelated issue) and 2 bouts of the itching in the last 24 hours. After wondering about this I remember when this happened in the past (not very often fortunately) and think it may have coincided with Cipro once before. So, think about something you've eaten, food or medication, when you've had the itching. Good luck. By the way... try running hands under hot (almost too hot) water. It has red raised bumps in clusters. It will go away, but when it comes back it is awful. Sometimes it feels like they are on fire. I did get sunburned on them, but I had the rash before. Wow, I finally found someone who has the same problem I do! I also have lupus and also just developed these itchy hives on the palms of my hands and soles of my feet. not only do mine itch, but on the soles of my feet,some parts swell and become red,and when I put pressure by standing on my feet, it becomes annoying and painful to walk. Ican't even wear closed shoes because it will cause my feet to swell and become painful. Since allergic reactions are part of the immune system and sometimes cause the release of histamine which causes itching, maybe an antihistimine would help. Just an idea. It is driving me nuts. The only thing I've found that works for awhile, is vitamin E lotion. I had hives last week, and went to the Dr, and he put me on steroids and hydroxyzine. It worked but I'm not really into taking pills. When i had hives my feet were do swollen it hurt to walk, and my hands swelled so much I thought I was going to have to get my wedding rings cut of, because my finger was starting to turn purple. I have tried Benadryl and lamasil lotion. Nothing worked. I have been to the Dr. He said that the itchy on my legs9 with no sighs of rash ...was stress. The rash on my feet is just "LUPUS".For the itchys on my legs...I do have a solution. I shave really good and then I put alcohol on them. Burns like crazy...but it works. FIRST TIME IT'S HAPPEND TO ME: Last Saturday at 4 a.m. I woke up with the palms of my hands driving me CRAZY. It got worse & worse...... THEN I noticed the bottoms of my feet!! First, I got up and poured cool water on them. They were purplish/red & blotchy. I tried to go back to bed, but it got worse & worse!!! I got up, went to the computerinbetweenen bouts of seminsanityty!) and did some research. (Thank the Lord, my husband hadn't turned it off before he went to bed & I didn't have to wait for it to boot up!) I found the link to RA, Gout, & Lupus! I was STUNNED!! I'm 49 now & have had symptoms on & off all my life. The doctor doesn't want tlabelle me yew w/o "one more" ...... My mother had Gout, 2 Aunts had Lupus, and another has RA. When I saw it could last for days I thought I may run outside & try to find a car to hit me. (small town and no traffic would be pretty hard) Anyway, it was snowing outside & I wanted to run out barefoot in the snow for relief!! FINALLY found relief.... had to hold an ice bag on my hands for a few minutes, then elevate them. Next, I laid on thloveseatat with my feet propped up & held the ice bag between my feew w/my hands in the air. After about a total of two hours it went away. Now, to complete the story...... for the last 10 days - 2 weeks I've had a major flare of pain in my left hip & headaches almost every day.
