» cameobandit - itching hands and feet

It is great to see so many others have the same problem with Wellbutrin because I feel pretty sure that must be the cause of my itching. No one has given any clues as how to stop it though other than going off of it even if it is short term. I am awaiting blood test results to rule out any other possible health problems which could be causing this.

» AtinaLee - Itchy Feet

Hi All! I just found this site here and was amazed at all the letters from you all. I thought I was alone in this battle with itchy feet. I have suffered with this for about 5 years but then it went away for 1 1/2 years but just came back.
I thought it was due to menopause. Now I think there is a connection with gastric problems I am having. I take my ph levels every day and notice when I am very acid or very alkaline I itch a lot. I also use ice water a lot to relieve this and have not slept now for over a week because it keeps me up. It is insane to have to go through this.
I think we get eczema due to hormone changes and also gastric problems.
I notice when I eat the itching stops but then will come back later. I was going to take pepcid and nexium but saw the side effects are itching so don't want to do that. I am trying to combat this with licorice wafers, gavison and tums. Also take acidolphilius and just started fish oil.
I am desperate.
I would like to do how to post here to a new topic. I just had to go to the most recent letter and click post.

If anyone wants to email me please do at benwho@webtv.net

I find Eucerin the best lotion to use.

No doctors have ever helped me.

I also have found when I balance my hormones well I don't itch. I think it is all connected somehow.

Thanks for this board here.

» egreeder - Itchy hands

My hands started itching in between my fingers a couple of years ago. Just recently it became worse, I get little blisters under my skin and they itch to the extreme, it feels so good when I itch them hard, that tears come from my eyes. Of course after I have pretty much itched the skin off it goes away. Naturally my hands crack and bleed for the next week, immediately after they heal it starts all over again. It has been going on continuously for about 2 months now. I have been to three Doctors, the first one said "Scabbies", the second said "Ecsyma" and the third said an allergy to something, can't seem to pinpoint anything. Going to a Dermatolgist Friday. Can anyone help?? wheelin1971@yahoo.com

see if your symtoms match those of dyshidrotic eczema - it causes severe itching on the palms of hands/in between fingers and toes/bottom of feet and tiny blisters form. i had it a few years ago - it is usually stressed induced. hope this helps.

For all of you complaining of this...I too suffer from this, especially at night. The only thing that works for me is taking a Claritin every day. It completely stops my itching...but if I forget to take it, the itching returns..I don't know why..but the claritin has been a lifesaver for me in this area. I find that I itch more when I have a glass of wine or eat foods with MSG...I'm probably allergic to sulfates, which aggravates the itchiness, however, if I take a claritin daily, I have no itch. I hope this helps you too!!! Just had to share, but I still want to make sure that this is not an underlying symptom to a bigger problem..

In response to Re: Itchy hands and feet posted by Pam2222:

Paresthesia is not a disorder in itself. It's a medical term for any kind of unusual sensations, such as itching, numbness, or tingling. Classic paresthesia is the "pins & needles" feeling of your foot being "asleep." It's caused by the compression of a nerve.

The first choice in working up any itching would be to try antihistamines because histamines (allergies)are probably the most common cause of itching. It's also relatively non-invasive to diagnose and treat. If you do have a true neurologic problem, the options may be rather limited.

» ItchyBitchy - I am itchy too!!!

I recently had a D&C and some other female surgery. After the surgery I went back for my follow up exam and used an antibacterial wipe to clense myself and broke into severe hives! I was on prednisone for 2 weeks and ended up with other issues from that because I am diabetic.

After this all was over (so I thought), I now get the itchy hands & feet like all of you have, but no blisters... I just itch like crazy!

I am back and forth to the doctors so much anymore I can't stand it... they can't diagnose it for me either.... STRANGE

» moochie9204 - itchy hands and feet

My hands and feet just started itching 3 days ago just out of the blue. I am trying to pinpoint what may have caused this to start. I waxed my car two days before the itching started and my hands were exposed to the wax for a long time and it made the very dry. But when my feet started to itch I ruled that out. The day before the itching started I got a teeth cleaning at the Dentist and she injected an antibiotic called tetracycline under a few of my teeth and gums. Could it be a reaction to the antiobiotic. I also recently started taking Protoxin for daily heartburn. I would actually wake up at 3:00 a.m. every morning with screaming heartburn. Since I started taking the protoxin a month ago I have not had heart burn once. I wonder if it is causing the itching? The morning that I started itching I had spent the night before in a hotel. It was nice clean room. I thought maybe I caught scabies or a bed bug or something. I had also washed my hair with a different brand of shampoo at the hotel. My girlfriend recently had an insatiable itching just above her pubic region for months. The Dr. gave her some kind of steroid shot and her itching has stopped. Is it something that I got from her. I'mm itching right now. I itched the back of my left hand so much that it started to scab up. This has to be one thing if so many people on here have the same symptoms. What is it??????????? it is driving me crazy and starting to hurt and keep me awake. If you have an idea what it is please help. I took the lupus test on here and it said that t was unlikely that I have that. I couldn't believe there was even a website for this and that so many other people were having this problem.. One good thing though, they say when your palms itch you are going to receive money. Well, I'mm gonna be a millionaire!!!!!

Hi, I just recently started going to several doctors and hadn't been to a doctor for years and years. I actually wondered if it was something I caught at the doctors office or maybe from on of the prescriptions they gave me?
My itching started after going to several dr. appts.
