I'm not alone!!!The first time this happened was about 12 years ago. Woke up during the night and ended up going to the store to get something for Athletes Foot. I never had another incident until about 5 years ago. Now it's constant. I HAVE to take theAllegraa at least 3-4 times a week or watch out!!! Not too many food allergies, no foot fungi, nothing that really makes any sense. I did read something about circulation though and wonder if that could be it. Well, I'm just glad it's not just me goingthruu this..yaa think they would come up with an answer though. Thanks for listening. -- posted by lambchop35 » okinny - Re: itchy hands and feet. In response to itchy hands and feet. posted by sweetee3:Clean hands could be related to your problem, but I tend to agree more with the idea of stress. I suffer from the same ailment (or something very close). Many years ago, while in the Navy, I was tasked with cleaning the pots and pans on the Mess Deck. The water was very hot and the job would last for several hours. I did this for three or four weeks and then, never again. However, the symptoms first began about the end of the third week. It began as a little spot. Without thinking, I would scratch the itch and it would grow like wildfire right before my eyes. The itch was remarkable and continued even as I scratched. Initially, I would try leaving it alone and it would pass as quickly as it began. The urge to scratch is powerful. But, when scratched, the problem grew quickly from finger to finger (mostly on the side of the finger. The ships doctor passed it off, not knowing its cause, saying it should pass. Subsequent doctor visits Now, after several years of the affliction, it comes on quickly in large areas on my hands and does not pass easily. I use Benadryl gel (extra strength Itch Relief) when the symptoms first appear and it helps eventually. Although it seems to be less and less affective as time goes on. Stress seems to bring the problem, which can disappear for many months (even a year). I will try the Varisi Healthy Feet spray. I will let you know how it works. Thanks for the tip and good luck! -- posted by okinny » Itchyfriend - Re: Itchy hands and feet In response to Itchy hands and feet posted by willo02:

I had to quit because I had a lumbar decompression & fusion 2 weeks ago today. The past couple of days my hands and feet are itching unbearably!!! I've seen a million guesses, but this one really hits home. What happened when you stopped the Wellbutrin? Please let me hear from you. thanks, katy000 -- posted by katy000 » katy000 - itchy hands & feet Late yesterday, my dermatologist returned my call about the itching. He was totally convinced that the itchy hands & feet was a reaction to hydrocodone (Lortab), which I must have developed since the surgery. Before surgery, I was taking it 4X/day without any reaction. It has now been about 30 hours since I last took one. I'm still itching, though not as bad. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I have found the source of the problem, but I'm not as convinced as he is. I still suspect the Wellbutrin. I have prescribed a lower dose for myself until my family doc returns from vacation--should be weened by then. I've always heard that you should not stop antidepressants abruptly.-- posted by katy000 » Jane45 - Itchy hands I'm new to this so bear with me. For years I was troubled with the appearance of small blisters on my fingers. These were extremely itchy and painful. The skin would break down and my fingers were at times so raw I couldn't use my hands.I used to have my fingers covered in tape continuously. I was diagnosed as Type 2 Diabetic 15 years ago and was put on oral medication. The blisters contined. But as the years passed and the disease progressed I was put on insulin and over night the blisters disapeared. I haven't had a problem with the blisters since. Now and again my hands become red and itchy and yes it is when my BS is high. My feet too, at times itch. Again high BS is the cause.-- posted by Jane45 » charlananda - Itching hands and feet I also have had the severe itching of the hands and feet and sometimes in my ears and generalized. In 2002, after having a lymph drainage by a chiropractor, I developed hives on my hands, bottom of feet and localized. After prednisone (which created other problems) the hives disappeared but it was months before the redness, itching feet and hands totally disappeared. Now it has been almost 3years since then and it has just started again. I have a program on Medical Astrology and figured out from my individual planetary relationship that a cause of this itching was related to a deficiency of pantothenic acid. I took a 50 mg B Complex tablet 3 times a day and the itching is subsiding. I wonder if taking even more would make it go away??? -- posted by charlananda » marthag71 - Re: itchy hands & feet Today is Aug. 21 I just had surgery mystery for a c-section on Aug. 8. I began feeling itchy on the 19th. On my scalp and my hands all around the fingers and palms. I wonder if it has anything to do with the pain medicine. I see no rash on the outside skin I just feel the itching and it gets irritating. I am also nursing my baby and taking benedril for the itching, which does not help.-- posted by marthag71 » holenuwrld - Itchy hands, feet, and all over About a week or so ago my hands starting burning and itching. A day later my feet. A few days after that parts of my body--behind my ears, my head, legs, and butt. My family is telling me that I'm having an allergic reaction to something but nothing has changed with my diet or anything that may cause an allergic reaction. Sometimes a rash will appear but only near my butt!! It's keeping me awake at night and I even wake up in the middle of the night itchy. I have no allergies (already been tested). I have not been to the doctor yet because I have no signs to show him of the itchness. Does anyone have suggestions as to what is going on? I did have my hair highlighted at a salon about 2 weeks ago but I can't imagine that doing anything. I have had my hair done several times and I have never had any problems. Also, can stress cause this? And if so, what can I do?HELP!!!! -- posted by holenuwrld » Stewart123 - Re: Re: Re: itchy hands and feet causing loss of sleep!!!
