Itchy hands and feet?

Like both of you, no other 'disease' symptoms. Dermatographia, though, describes the welting/itch on the majority of my body, and is reduced somewhat with Allegrara. As mentioned, the feet/hands is very 'internalized'. Odd: I, too, just off a yeast infection before this happened (only the second in my 42 years)! I did not take oral meds, though, but heavy dose of anti-fungal. The other thing, I JUST recovered from a fractured ankle, where the itching has been excruciating since this started. I was thinking break down of soft tissue or something causing the reaction? But my doctors say no. (I had no latex or irritant at the site) I am doing full blood panel to check for liver function, etc...but feel otherwise healthy and active. -- posted by HBKris » scottishgirl - Hi Guys! HBKris, I'm glad that the Allegra is at least controlling the itch and keeping you from wanting to scratch your own feet off!Karen, I can really sympathize with your food issues. I have several relatives with Celiac Sprue and they had to do months of food elimination in order to be sure that it was the glutens in their diets that was the cause of the problems. Not only that, but they had to be sure to keep eating wheat and glutens until their labs were all done, then stop for 2-3 months and then have their labs all redone. Talk about frustrating. Thank Heaven your Zyrtec is working, though! I'm glad that you've got some relief from the itching discomfort. Don't give up and keep on working with your docs to discover the source of your symptoms. It will be worth it in the end! ))Hugs(( Gurl71, so what did your doc say? I don't think I've ever heard of a yeast infection treatment having an itchy hands and feet side effect. If you've got no rash or anything, it's possible that it's a systemic symptom. If you have any other symptoms, like really pale or bluish skin on your hands or feet, or numbness, be sure to mention that to your doc. Best of luck, and let us know how you're doing!

I am 44 but I am pretty sure I am starting Menopause. But my feet have been itching now for at least 2 years. I have treated for fungus until I finally saw a Podiatrist that told me I had severely dry skin. I have had every medicine out there for Fungus which I was first diagnosed with from a walk in prompt care. So I blow dried my feet after every shower, wore white cotton socks and changed them twice a day and took bad for the liver prescription drugs to clear up the fungus but it never went away. So hence my trip to the Podiatrist. So after many expensive Steroid prescriptions and dry skin cream(keep in mind I was doing everything I could to dry up the Fungus I thought I had)now fighting dry skin I thought...I am at the end of my rope. I am considering amputation for relief even if I have to do it with my chop saw at my shop. ;o)I am sitting with my phone book open to Dermatologists which my Podiatrist said he would refer me if the last cream didn't work. Well, I am not sure I want him to refer me cause I have little hard white flakey bumps where the intense itch occurs. They are smaller than a pea and you can't see them unless I scratch them until they are raw. I tried to point them out to my Doctor but he just said DRY SKIN OVER AND OVER. So if anyone knows about these demon bumps that itch so bad I want to take a Belt Sander to them, please let me know!!!! Chop saws and belt sanders! You have a great sense of humour and I bet that it keeps you from truly losing your marbles! I would try a different podiatrist if I were you. A second opinion couldn't hurt and if his diagnosis and treatment isn't working, he shouldn't be so bullheaded as to keep repeating himself like a one-trick parrot! A dermatologist could also be helpful if a fungus can be pretty much ruled out. Be sure to get copies of your medical records to bring with you to your new doctors, so that they can see where you've already been and don't start repeating stuff that you know already doesn't work! IT was especially bad during the night last night. It is kinda off and on. It is driving me crazy. What did you find out about yours? Mine started about a month ago with my palms itching ( I thought I was going to win some money)lol.... Now for the past 2 nights I have had a real hard time falling to sleep, because the soles of my feet started to itch (burn they itch so bad) now today I am itchy all over ( my thumbs,chest,legs,face,neck,etc...). I don't have a rash,allergies or anything I can physically see, But I have been extremely fatigued for about the last 6 months. My friend told me that this could be a symptom of a more serious problem. My hands do not itch and I have been suffering with this more on than off for 2 years or so. 6 month fatigue is what I wish I had. 2 years of this insane scratching with sharp objects and soaking my feet in whatever said it has the most moisture and buying these weird feeling $20.00 socks that arickyky to touch on the inside but they really put moisture in the skin. Unfortunately not enough to stop my itch. Then I have to worry about fungus if I moisturize to long. As for the visit back to the Podiatrist...probably not. Dermatologist is next. I have allergies but never anything like this. Just major sinus issues. Allergic to Oak, Dust Weeds, Cats Kentucky Bluegrass, and my worst is Mold. Mold multiplies in windy conditions over 300 X's. My culture lifted the lid on the tray in about 2 hours. Bummer too cause I own a kite business and we pray for wind most of the timelollol :o0 If I find someone that will take the time to hear me out on how long it has been going on and has a decent suggestion or even just takes a scraping which I mentioned to my Podiatrist several times and he just passed it on by, I will let everyone in on what they had to tell me...BIG IF!!! I'm am so sorry about all of you and your itchiness wherever you have it cause it is making me go insane and I am having major doubts about the Medical field these days. I want to not have to ask the doctor to try this or that...That is what I pay them for. They are supposed to be the ones telling me what I should do not be the ones that you have to beg them to go to the next step whatever that might be. They are so afraid of being sued I guess that they are afraid to just try something. I just want some positive steps forward to try and find my solution to my itchy foot. Oh and did I mention it is only on my left foot.
