» Hawns - Way to be objective!

Nancy,

I really enjoyed reading your article because it was such an objective overview of the debate. I really admire that you can put your opinions (and I would like to hear them) aside for the time being and produce a well written, informative piece. (Something I need a little work on, as you probably noticed when you read my article. :-) )

Looking forward to more...

Shawn

In response to message posted by Hawns:

Shawn,
Thank you for your response. Yes, I have chosen a dispassionate, objective approach perhaps because I have my own conflicts about the ramifications of globalization that need sorting out before I take a stand. I do believe, however, in reconciling differences through respectful debate and, yes, even protest and purposeful civil disobedience.

The passion evident in your piece is as informative and as valuable as traditional journalistic objectivity. Let's face it, people have differing opinions. Your article is an expression of an important and valid point of view that merits consideration.

Anyone interested in a first person account of anti-globalization activism is encouraged to read Shawn's article.

Best,
