» Renie_Burghardt - So true!

So true, Silvan. Gardening organically is the only way to go. Vegetables grown organically are so healthy that they resist a good many pests, and the rest can be dealt with easily, with things like pepper sprays, etc. I never use pesticides in my vegetable garden, and I always have bumper crops. Excellent article. Thanks!

all your hard work but it looks like it's paying off now. This really is a labor of love, isn't it. The home-grown veggies are SO good. Thanks for this heartfelt piece. Jerri

» silvan - satisfaction deferred

Organic gardening really is the best, isn't it, Renie and Jerri? Unfortunately that wonderful year, 1995, was the last one I had access to the land. Since my marriage ended in early 96 I've lived in apartments. My cottage property being completely wooded is unsuitable. And my city, despite its strong environmental record, does not have community plots. So this will be another chapter in my story of a quest for sustainability.
