Overly Energetic Dog

» outofitnow1 - Help-Overly Energetic Dog I have a 3 year old male Lab/Rotweiller mix dog. My problem is that he is pure non-stop energy. No matter how much exercise he gets, he keeps going. He is smart and loving but non-stop. He has a large fenced in yard. I have let him run (I live in the country), played with him all day, brought him into the house at 5:30 PM and at 1:30 AM the next morning he was still going. He has spent a week in training. The trainer stated that she had never seen a dog so energetic and put him on a sugar free diet. It had no effect. She suggested that a friend take a day off to run and play with him all day. It did no good. A friend came over with her children. Although they played with him most of the day and he was panting hard, he would not keep still. I want him in the house (he sleeps outside in a kennel); however, he will not stay still and has played non-stop all night. As I work, I can't keep him inside under those circumstances. When he is outside and I am home, he cries to come in then begins his non-stop play. I am at wits end. Any advice would be welcomed.-- posted by outofitnow1 » StrmDncr - Re: Help-Overly Energetic Dog In response to Help-Overly Energetic Dog posted by outofitnow1:I've seen hyper dogs before but none like yours. I honestly think you should talk to your vet. He may have a medical condition that needs to be looked at. Let me know how you make out... Good Luck -- posted by StrmDncr
