today i just got a new pom puppy & i think she is a girl ,as the lady told me she was when i bought her.but as friends & family has seen her today they think she is a boy,but i think that a boy thingy is closer up to there chest,and all poms squat when there puppys so im just not quiot sure ,can anyone help me in this situation,if not ill have to go to the vet..thanks tammy19-- posted by Tammy19

In response to new pom posted by Tammy19:Tammy, the first thing you should do "is" to see your vet. When ever you buy a new puppy you should always have it checked by your vet to be sure it is in good health and that you got what the breeder said you paid for.
Also, you are correct. The male dogs' penis does point forward and more or less lays against the stomach, where a female is toward the rear under the tail.
One other thing, all puppies squat. They aren't strong enough to lift their leg and hold their balance at the same time and until they feel the need to mark their territory they will squat.
