» ShaunJex - Retrospect

I know it may be late to make a post like this. After all I wrote the original review in 2001, almost four years ago now. However, something about this review has always nagged at me. For some reason I think I felt obligated to like the book and as I wrote the review I was more positive towards it than I was naturally inclined to be. I mean this as no disrespect or jab towards the author. It simply wasn't my style of story, nor was it as I believe I said in the review, at all comparable to the works of Flannery O'Conner, except that it was a Southern story that was concerned with religious issues. That said I may seem crass for posting this but it relieves my personal and artistic integrity somewhat I think.
