I've read reviews of Anne Carson's work, and I've hesitated, out of sheer intimidation, to pick it up. You've written a wonderfully enticing review, however.

The beauty about 'Plainwater' and 'Autobiography of Red' is their readability. If the reader wants to delve in and learn about the classics they can, especially with the aid of the internet. If not these works are wonderfully enriching in their relevancy to todays concerns.
