» pamela_saint - Roth

Hi Diana,

I have yet to read a Philip Roth novel, and Franzen's book has been hovering in my periphery, too.

Really enjoyed the article. I'm always intrigued by self-reflexive writers.

Thanks Pamela, I am quickly going through all his Zuckermann books. I find I like to exhaust all the books of a writer in succession, and that way pick up the nuances/styles of the writer. With Roth, and our mutual (that is you and I) interest in writing, you get to get into the mind of Roth as a novelist--I think Martin Amis does a bit of this too, bringing in the author--well, it is always great to read a real master at work.

talk to you soon,
...Diana

Thanks Peggy, I have to admit I got hooked on Roth, luckily I forced myself to read another author and it gave me the beginnings of a new article. The great thing about love of reading, is that there is a never-ending supply of books out there.

Thanks for stopping in,
...Diana
