» beekay - Thank God for Your Topic

Hi Regina...really enjoyed reading your article & I am thankful for it. Yes, grammar IS most important & I suppose we should know it well before we bend it, so to speak. Frankly, I enjoy the mechanics of it all; still, I am going to refresh myself. Any writer who feels a need for that should do so, I feel. However, like Winston Churchill, I could easily tangle with prepositions at the end of the sentence! And, what was that famous quote George Bernard Shaw made regarding split infinitves? I can't recall but it was hilarious! Thanks for a great reading!
Suitely, Brenda

My problem is I'm surrounded by people who speak poorly (including myself) so, I run into difficulties when it comes to writing. I tend to write how I speak and this isn't always a good thing! I've also noticed a lot of people becoming extremly lazy since the dawn of the Internet through use of email and chats. What used to be considered taboo is now a way of communicating for these people. A slang here, a shortened word or symbol there can get really annoying for someone trying to keep their rules in use!

C-Ya L8r & Thanks 4 the article! smile

It's the wandering apostrophes that bother me... I hate seeing onion's and apple's advertised! I always want to ask... "An orange's *what*?" but I doubt if the offenders would get the point."
