» Jo Murphy - Beam Me Up Scotty?

Hmm? I guess we are in it.
I couldn't help thinking of installation art and and the Christo type 'wrap the art up' stuff.
Not that I ever really got it. The Christo stuff I mean. I think I understood it about as much as anyone but was prepared to admit that it only made me wonder.

Do you think the whole progerssion of ideas has turned full circle?

Art is what I live, think breath. It is inside the rectangle. It is what makes up the framing of the rectangle. I can interact with the rectangle in avariety of ways both inside and out??? Or that's right was it a circle?..with no boundaries.
I devise the art on the computer..transferr it on to a wall via a projector which I than photograph selling the next mural via the inetrnet which of course leads me to...

Hmm? Which bit am I selling? appreciating, marketing? learning, teaching?

All very mish mashed isn't it?

Or did you mean something else?

LOL

I love arty conversations but I never feel in control of them,

ahhh, christo!!!
(i never got that wrap stuff up thing either===admired it intellectually, but===)
yes, i think much art of this type is very akin to the installation concept===in fact, many artists call their works "installations," as opposed to "pieces" or "objects"====
(((((just read George Landow's essay on hypertext in Lunenfeld's Digital Dialectic===still musing over the very real difference between, say, a physical book, which is an object in the world, and an electronic document, which, below it all, is all code, semiotics====hmmmm)
i love these kinds of discussions too, but I always feel far too dumb to say anything worthwhile====
