Sometimes less can be more, sometimes nothing at all is necessary, the quiet meditation the piece provides, the simplicity of it, the way it allows the mind to play and create it's own interpretations no matter how ludicrous, or the complete abandonment of interpretations what so ever make the piece you discuss fascinating, and yet...it's so simple and people always try so hard to be profound...you really do just have to laugh-- posted by Dhalgren13

Interesting dialogue with Allen Ginsberg. My own reading (e.g. Natalie Goldberg, Stephanie Dowrick) consistently presents the idea that our resistance to boredom is a hindrance to spiritual growth and the creative process. Boredom often precedes new ideas or insights, and by avoiding it, we may in fact be avoiding new information. This concept wouldn't be especially popular in our over-stimulated society. We're addicted to things that crowd art and wisdom out of our brains.-- posted by silvan
