» Renie_Burghardt - Move Over WWF

Hi Pam, hehe, I think the ferret wrestling is less pretend than people wrestling, and more for real! Bilbo sounds like quite a fun boy to watch. I hope Stewie doesn't get too frustrated with him. Interesting and informative article, as usual. Thank you. Hope all is well with you, Pam. Take care! Renie

I have a ? and wonder if I should be concerned...
I have two ferrets a female who is 7 1/2 and a male who is 5 1/2. They get along very well and always have...sometimes they actually seem to be in love with each other and if one is sick the other gets upset till he or she is well again.
They wrestle often....usually my male, Dustin, instigates it and my female, Dusty (who Dustin is name after)chimes in but gets bored of the game quickly and runs off. (Although she has been know to be the instigator)
Lately I have noticed that both ferrets have each had a had scab once or twice and I wondered where they could have gotton hurt because in all the years I have had them they had never had a scab before. Last night after they each had a bath (which was long overdue) they were playing in the bedroom when all of the sudden I heard this horrible screaming high pitch chattering sound. I went running to see what had happend and it seemed as though Dustin was wrestling with Dusty and she was screaming and having a fit. It didnt look like he was hurting her at all and especially when I seperated them he was barely touching her. She had herself so upset she was hacking alittle. Dusty has just been diagnosed with borderline Insuloma and is on a very small dose of Prednesone. My questions are????
1.Could the medication or Insuloma be causing her to react this way??? Although I did notice the scab long before she was ever on the medicine.
2.Was her behavior normal and maybe she was just in a bad mood even though it has never happened before????
3.Do the scabs mean that they are all of the sudden nipping at each other?????
ps...on a side note the only thing I notice Dusty doing that Dustin seems bothered by is that she is ALWAYS grooming him and trying to clean his ears which is also a newer behavior for her. She tends to think he belongs to her.

Hope you have an answer for me......

In response to message posted by Jrsydevl32:

Now knowing that I only owned my first ferret for 9 months, and my second ferret for just a short time only about 3 days. But I think it has a lot to do witht he age differences now. But maybe it's because Dusty might want to have a baby and is treating Dustin as a baby. But she is getting older and I don't think that the medicine she is on is a problem but maybe other behaveior progresses when they get older that is all I am saying. But I need some help and been trying to get the help since 3 days. Maybe you can help me out. My first ferrets name is Cisqo and my second ferrets name is Tigger, Cisqo is about to turn 1 at the end of the month, and I am not really sure how old Tigger is but how old does Tigger have to be before I can stick them in the same cage?
