» Jennifer Hollowell - Fist, I'd like to welcome your topic to the suite!

Fist, I'd like to welcome your topic to the suite! :-) Next, I'd like to point out (coincidentally) that my husband and I were just looking at these creatures yesterday. We giggled at the hammocks set up in their cages and how cute they were. We decided to learn more about them before bringing one home, though. Now we can!!! Thanks!!

» SandyMcC - Funny smell description!

Hi there,
Your description of the smell ferrets emit is hilarious! I'd never thought of it like that, but I think you're right. Family members have ferrets, and what you say about aging and ailments is all too true. Just like kids, we need to keep them healthy. It's the only thing that keeps me from getting one. Well okay, that and the fact that I have six cats, and three of them are wild adoptees. I wouldn't want to subject such a cute creature to them!

Nice read, thanks! I'll be back, I hope you put in some photos, too! I'd love to see them. Be sure to stop by 'my place' and say hi!

Thanks for the welcome! I'm really psyched about being here at the Suite. It sounds like you and your husband are about to embark on a journey into weaseldom - and what a fun journey it is! I'm happy to answer any questions you have along the way. Pam

Hi Sandy! My husband thinks I'm insane for that description of the way ferrets smell, but I think its pretty on the mark. The trials of mixing ferrets with other pets is actually a topic I have in mind for a future article, and you are right, it can get crazy! I recently added a photo to the article - that little weasel with his tongue out is my ferret Stewart. I'll be adding more as I go along. Thanks for visiting!

» ruby - Cutest photo!

I had the opportunity to write about ferrets on a project for the Petopia site some time ago. Everything I know about these cute creatures are from research only. I first saw a couple here in America and they are sooo cute! I'll be visiting your site for your true-to-life experiences. Nice to have you at the Suite!
