» Lhasaluv - Is there something wrong with my Lhasa?

I got my little Cookie a week ago, she is 12 weeks old, and everytime she goes #2, she will immediately turn around and start eating it. She will walk quite far to do her "business" in private, so we have to be very quick to get to her to keep her from eating it! The vet said this is normal for puppies, but I have never had a puppy before that has done this. Is she missing something in her diet-I feed her Purina Puppy Chow? Any comments or suggestions would greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My Lhasa has not shown this behavior. But I once had an Australian Terrier that did. Friends told me it was something missing in his diet. I fed him Science Diet and lots of healthy snacks. The vet told me it was a common habit. He did eventually outgrow it to a certain degree. However, he always ate it when he had an accident in his kennel. Guess he didn't like looking at itsmile Sorry I don't have any advice, just wanted to let you know it is not that rare. Good Luck and enjoy your puppy.
