The puppy is now 4 1/2 months old and they have to get rid of it because the also have a Chow that will not accept the puppy into the household. So basically, since they brought the puppy home, they have either carried her around, or put her in a bedroom with the door closed. She apparently is somewhat housebroken whereas they take her out on a leash, but they also have her going on piddle pads while she is in the bedroom. They want me to take the puppy. My question(s)arewill this puppy have a hard time adjusting to me? My brother has a Shetland Sheepdog - will they get along? I work all day, will this breed be OK home alone? Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. -- posted by admiss » Nan30 - Any other Lhasas with heart murmurs? Hello. My 7 year old Lhasa, Wicket, was just diagnosed with a heart murmur caused by a faulty tricuspid valve in the right ventricle of his heart. We are going in next week for an ultrasound so that we can start treatment, but I was wondering if anyone out there has experienced this with their Lhasa(s). Needless to say, I'm devastated about this diagnosis, and would appreciate hearing what others have experienced. Thanks! -Nan -- posted by Nan30 » dogluver - Confused I recently was given what is believed to be a lhasa apso. Her name is Ruthy she was quite matted and dirty when I took her home, she is believed to be 3 years old. I quickly grew to love this precious ball of fur...The visit to the groomers led to my confusion, she is now all shaved with just her tail and facial hair,(still looks precious!!)yet the groomers said she looks like Shi-Tzuzu, I have been on every web site available , trying to compare and match mruthyhy to either thshi-tzuzu or thLhasasa... if I share a picture of her would someone be able to help me??? There is one thing I can't place with either of the breeds , the fact that her bottom teeth stick out.... -- posted by dogluver » Cynstar - Re: Confused In response to message posted by dogluver:Hi dogluvr: Would love to see a pic of your dog. I just got a lhasa myself from the spca..they are a kick in the pants...came here to read about their allergies...i think I am gonna go holistic at this point so as not to aggrevate him any longer with countless meds and steroid shots. -- posted by Cynstar » Michelleash7 - Lhasa's Higher Back Legs do the Lhasa Apso have higher back legs then the front legs???thanx michelle -- posted by Michelleash7 » twomnm - Re: Scratching Lhasa In response to message posted by ttaylor:I just found this site & wanted to talk to you about the scratching part, & ask you what are the plug in things you mentioned? I have no experience in the particular type of dog and would like feedback on those whove bred and/or raised Lhasas who can tell me the best way to raise him. Thanx 4 ur help. She will "dig" into whatever she is layign on--if its the bed, she roots up the covers & tries to put them around her-I guess an effort to get comfortable? Then, she will either try to lay on top of or right beside the toy (a little stuffed lamb she's had since being a puppy). She's very clingy to me-has to be RIGHT UP against me whenever I'm nearby. She's done the "digging" thing before but never the whimpering & carrying the toy around. I don't knowi f this is part of being at breeding age, or if its somethign else. She's fine when I take her to my sister's house & she plays all day with their dog with no whimpering. When she comes home to my house (it's just me & her there) she immediately goes for the toy & a little whimpering until she gets next to me & curls up.
