Elizabeth,

This is a great article and it sounds quite parallel to that of Mary Ann Shadd Cary, a Canadian abolishionist, lawyer and teacher. I have submitted the article on her to the Women's History Month Event as well. If you get a chance, take a look. It is amazing how both of these women fought for the same end.
