I recently went to a NKBA KitchenArt seminar and this was one appliance most kitchen designer/builders wanted to eliminate. They claim the vents are inefficient and not well-located.-- posted by Poggenpohl

I don't think a true gourmet cook would want one in their kitchen but for Dick and Jane Average, I think it is a great idea. Perhaps the only better place for a microwave is in a double oven cabinet but not too many people have room for one of those.
