» Jacquie111 - Re: cassowrays In response to message posted by tiger2001:You are right in assuming that the Cassowary looks like the emu. The main differences are the colored neck and the hard shell on top of it's head. It really is quite an unusual looking bird. Not many people get to see the Cassowary because unlike the emu and ostrich that roam the open plains, Cassowary's are very secluded birds that stick to the rain forests where they are often not seen. If you would like to see a great photograph of a cassowary log on to www.ozramp.net.au/~senani/cassow.htm Hope you continue to find my articles interesting. It's great to get feedback. My daughter absolutely loves animals and I hope that when she grows up she may pursue a career in this field. Animals are fascinating. -- posted by Jacquie111 » Jacquie111 - Re: cassowrays In response to message posted by Sue59:Hi Sue, Thank you for letting me know of my mistake. I knew immediately when I read your email what I had done. I went straight back to my notes and saw that it is actually New Guinea that has a subspecies of Cassowary and not New Zealand as I had misprinted throughout my article. Thanks for taking the time to let me know. Jacquie Killer Animals -- posted by Jacquie111
