yourself with these birdhouse plans and pictures, Peggy. How ingenious! It's nice to have pictures of the birds and houses, too. What a cool article!

Peggy, what a wonderful way to interest kids in birds with these whimsical birdhouses. I'm glad you included the photos, too. Excellent article!

Hi Jerri and Tina,
I live in Wisconsin, the Dairy State. Years ago I painted a Cow Birdhouse that I hung on a large house plant. After awhile I became curious and had to look up what a cowbird actually looked like. I thought it was fun to create fun birdhouses for such unusual birds.

Peggy,

A wonderful article and the pictures sure help. I've never seen a cowbird, but we do have catbirds here, as well as red-winged blackbirds and bluebirds. You've just given me an idea for an activity with the boys. They will love creating and hanging one of these birdhouses.

Hi Mary,
I hope you and the boys have fun making your birdhouses. The most important thing you need is imagination.

My son said my Cat Birdhouse looked Chinese, so I decided it was a Siamese Cat Birdhouse and gave it Siamese Cat blue eyes. The pointed roof looks like a cooly hat.

Peggy, the timing of this article is terrific. I just finished the second part of a how-to on birdwatching. I included a link to this article in my "Around Kids'Korner" section.
