What precious little children. There are so many who need loving homes.

» biogardener - For sure

Having grown up in wartime when many children lost their parents, I am particularly sensitive to the needs of orphans.

My mother's best friends, who was like a second mother to me, found one of these children during the turmoil after the collapse of Germany after World War II. The girl was too little even to remember her name and she was never matched up with her parents who may have been killed in airraids or who may have been looking for her all their lives. My Aunt Ella raised her as her own daughter. She became a single mothers that way after the war when she would have been too old to have children of her own.

Linda's children are precious indeed. I remember Jimmy emailing me years ago and sending me a picture which he had drawn of himself in front of their house. Obviously, his home was very important to him.

I have heard all the children's voices on the telephone recently, and I feel priviledged to know the family.

» Linda - Thank you all!

Thank you all for the warm welcome back and for the birthday wishes for Anya. It's hard to believe that my baby is 2 yrs old already! I don't know where our last year disappeared to. ''

I hope to get everything completed to start work on this topic soon.

Thanks again!

Linda

» biogardener - Change in plans

Unfortunately, things did not work out as expected and Linda won't be taking her topic back. Maybe someone else enjoys gardening with children and would enjoy writing for this topic. It is available for adoption.

» biogardener - Apology

I must apologize to the readers of this topic for the terrible formatting changes which have occurred in this article since I first published it. The changes were made without my knowledge, and I have no way of correcting them. Apparently, this topic has been chosen as a test site for formatting changes, and they have been happening at various times since last summer. One of those changes just happened since February 9, 05, and it affects every article in the topic which I have looked at so far, including the ones written by Linda Mazar.

Even though my articles are among the shortest on this website, they are now divided into two pages, and some of the divisions occur in the most awkward places.

Again, I apologize, but there is nothing I can do about it.

» DustyToo - Correction made

Due to complaints by various writers at Suite101, the Suite techie corrected the problem today, and all articles are once again formatted properly. Thanks, Michelle. I was getting ready to throw in the towel if a correction would not have been possible.
