A series of bad experiences

» Gumfoot - Problem getting doctors to listen It amazes me that my doctor only works one day a week and only in the afternoon. In January I made an appointment to see him and the earliest appointment I could get was February 25th. After seeing my doctor, I then had to wait until June 3rd to see a specialist. As an Epileptic, I had poor seizure control with my medication and wanted to get it under control. Waiting six months before anything could be done about my seizure control is ridiculous. I was supposed to see my doctor again this week but I found out he is now on vacation until the end of August. I am certainly not going to wait until then, but I will have to see a different doctor that is not familiar with my situations. Also, I wrestled with the thought of finding a new doctor (one that is more available) but I have run into a snag. I phoned six offices and not one of them is accepting new patients. I went to a medical clinic thinking that one of the doctors in the clinic would be able to recommend one. They couldn't suggest any doctor accepting new patients. While seeing a doctor in the clinic, he would not allow me to finish any of my sentences. He would interrupt me with another of his questions. The four hour process allowed me less than ten minutes with the doctor and the answer to my medical situation was "you will just have to live with it". It was a bloody waste of my time. Why to they have to be so rude, condescending and smugly arrogant - and they never listen. Aargh!-- posted by Gumfoot
