» mastiffs2005 - Cool!

I just LOVE these articles, Beth! I learn something with every one! I can't wait for an article on Elizabeth... I played her in a school play smile The critics said they never knew Elizabeth had such a southern accent LOL

Dar

» biogardener - Why not?

If Romeo and Juliet can speak the King's English, why can't Elizabeth speak with an American accent. BTW, I never thought of you as speaking with any particular accent.

Isn't it great that we can converse on the Internet and have no problems understanding each other's accents?

Well, I tried to get rid of the accent because I had a drama scholarship, but it just wouldn't go away LOL Yes, the internet is a wonderful communication tool! I've been told that I tend to write exactly like I talk, though, lots of LOL's and all smile

I do regret, though, that I didn't get to study more of the actual stories of the people I acted out. I went to a private school, and our history departments were lacking. I'm enjoying learning so much new stuff since I've joined the Kids Korner smile

Love & Hugs,
Dar

» biogardener - Anne of the Thousand Days

Make sure you see the 1969 movie, "Anne of the Thousand Days." You will fall in love with Anne as portrayed by the 19-year-old French-Canadian Genevieve Bujold. This movie established her international stardom, but she has proved herself worthy of the role in later movies.

The acting is superb and the scenic shots are breath-taking. I do believe that the story sticks pretty close to historical facts, too. The movie plays on TV occasionally, and is certainly available in video rental stores. It is also sold by Amazon. Maybe you could place a link to it in this article, Elizabeth.

Loved the article, Beth! BTW - I met a woman who modelled one of the Anne Boleyn costumes when the film came ou to australia in the 70's. She's kindly given me the professional photo that was taken of her so I can scan it and put it up at Tudor England. I'm so pleased! AOTTD is THE film for the passionate Tudorites who love AB!!!
