» Red - Joseph Merrick...

Beth,

I enjoyed part one of the story about Joseph Merrick. I am looking forward to hearing the rest of his story. How sad that people scorned him for his looks. Often, people with deformities and disabilities are the kindest and have gentle hearts. I hope that future generations will see that looks are only skin deep. As I tell the grandsons, "It's what's in your heart that counts."

Thanks Mary, I'd like to think that today he'd get a better deal but aside from the select few that can view the inside of a man, I think he would still be scorned. However, the medical care and support he would receive today would have been so much better I'm sure. Still despite the scorn in his life, he touched many hearts as we'll come to find out smile
