Janette,

I really enjoyed this article. I live about an hour north of Fort Scott and have visited there twice. The National Parks Service has done a great job with their exhibits of the fort and its history.

Warmest regards,
Cindy

Cindy, I'm a bit farther north than you in KS. Does that make us country neighbors? The NPS does a fabulous job with the preservation of Fort Scott. It's a beautiful location and well worth the time to visit the site.

Hi Jan,
I just read your latest piece of writing on another fort, Fort Scott. As usual you have managed to make history interesting. I liked the details about the horses.
Thanks for the info and all the best to you.

Hi Pearl! Glad you enjoyed the article on Fort Scott. I hope you clicked on the link and took a visual tour of the old fort. The dragoons were very particular about their horses and equipage. I'll have more information about them in later articles. Jan
