Thanks, Jan, for painting such a great picture of Fort Leavenworth. I felt as if I got an idea of the fort's setting, and something of its amazing history. I kept thinking to myself, Hmm I wish I could describe a fort like this one in my next story.smile Keep writing.

Pearl, Fort Leavenworth is a beautiful military installation. In my opinion, Col. Leavenworth chose the site well. Do check out the history links. There are some wonderful pictures of Kansas and the forts on them.

I don't know if I'm replying correctly here or not. Anyway, I followed up your tip concerning checking out the history links. So far, I haven't seen Fort Leavenworth, but I have found 1870 pictures of the City of Leavenworth. Interesting.
