-Suzanne -- posted by Suzanne Hill » dequizq - Farsi Conducting research on Islam and Middle Eastern philosophy I had the occasion to study Farsi Arabic. During these studies I learned that not only do the mediums of exchange in news publications differ drastically one from the other, also, the language renders itself a version apart from any other language I have researched. When engaging in the Farsi language-there are varying levels of trust that are conveyed and most things that are said can be said in multiple ways. If you have earned the trust of the "inner circle" the language is adjusted, if however, you never acquire that level of trust your language will remain as a guest, albeit you may be totally ignorant of the fact. This was an unusual, yet accepted part of the language. It is unlike colloquialisms that would render street language over intellectual language. Appreciate your article-one more piece of the puzzle put to rest. -- posted by dequizq » phoehne - News coverage I've been hearing that American news agencys are saying only what the government wants them to say. To get the whole story it seems we have to go to news sources from other countries.I would imagine Arab news sources are rather biased on the other side than American ones. Maybe to get the real story we have to find a more neutral source. But I think reading what the Arab community is thinking could be very informative and eye opening. Thanks for the sources. The more we know the less we can be fooled by so called 'informed' sources. -- posted by phoehne
