.He is on CNBC now saying we don't need to give tax relief to the fat cats by making dividends tax free.
His suggestion is better for most of us in the middle... Bogle suggests making all dividends tax free up to the first $1,000.
We used to get $200 tax free but I think Mr "read my lips, no new taxes" Bush took that away from us.
I'd add this should be indexed to inflation.
Personally, I'd rather let the corporations expense dividends just like they expense interest cost. Both are a cost to doing business and should be treated the same.
