» TLLewis - Preferred Stocks for income

I have been successful, for the most part, in investing in Preferred Stocks for income purposes and have found many that will give a return of 7% or more, with little change in the price of the stock. However, they are very hard to find on the internet or other publications (unless high priced subscriptions. I am new to this site, but would like to suggest we share ideas on Preferred stock and also sources of research. Thanks

In response to TLLewis. I'm also interested in preferred stocks and in getting some ideas as to which ones are good for investments. I recently found this web site www.quantumonline.com with a list of preferred stocks that is free. You may find it interesting. If you care to share which ones you have bought, my e-mail is makalunga001@aol.com.
Good luck on your investments

I too have been successful so far with preferred stocks. I have several, and am contemplating whether to contact my broker today to see if any are available, or whether I should purchase a tax-free bond instead.
I am not too savvy in this game, but am always learning.

In response to message posted by Arianne377:

I recently bought Preferred Income Fund (PFO) which yields 7.7%. Unfortunately I bought near its high, and it has backed off since, but that probably represents a decent buy-in level. You'll be better off with diversification through buying the fund rather than individual companies.
