» Will_L - The obvious resolution of the QQQ debacle

All of this gives a roadmap for anyone who has watched Brinker closely as to what he will do with his QQQs.

Looking at the hype about this cyclical bull coming up, I will guarantee you that sometime during that "fully invested position", Brinker will drop all mention of the QQQs.

He will give some long winded gibberish like the following.
" Now that subscribers have assumed a fully invested position for our anticipated cyclical bull market, we think it is an opportune time to adjust portfolios in line with your risk tolerance. Those of you who might have Nasdaq 100 (qqq) notice that just like he is doing in the newsletter now he will act like he doesn't know how they got there LOL) might want to consider making a sideways move into our portfolios with those funds. We always look at a portfolio as one and want our subscribers to be comfortable according to their risk tolerance. These periods when we are fully invested during the strength in this secular bear market is the time to make those changes to make you, the individual investor comfortable with their portfolio".

End of story of the QQQ. Wanna bet??? Course I'll tag this post and Brinker knows he will see it over and over and .... smile

» Jaybird248 - BB back on the Net

For some time, a rights dispute kept BB off the net. However, he can now be heard at www.wlsam.com, out of Chicago.

On today's show, it was kind of shocking that he had not only not heard of FB and NLY, two highly successful REITs, but didn't understand the risk inherent in them even when pointed out to him.

» pjstack - MOABO is coming, says Bob.

At least on today's show he indicated that he thought there would be a MOABO, but didn't know exactly when. He said he would give a signal when he was going to a Fully Invested Position. But he did use the term "MOABO" a couple of times.

Sloppy R Us?

Shoot, you're talking about a "pro" who can't even rebalance his own portfolios! He's a dweeb.

In the May 2002 issue, he brought up the 21-38 month CBs again. Where did the 6 months come from? Is he looking at the S&P, the W5000 or the Dow? Even if he was looking at different indices, how do you go from 6 months to 21 months?

This is why Bob NEEDS interpretation.

Yes, PJ I heard that on the way to dinner right at the end of his show. He yammered something about it would either be a "moabo" or if not it would be an "EBO"--extraordinary buying opportunity.

Now what a crock. He used this same pitch for a year and then last summer said point blank when asked about him calling "a great buying opportunity"--"I didn't say that". He went on to yammer about how his model was NOT ABOUT FINDING A BOTTOM and that his re-entry point may not be anywhere near a bottom.

Now since he is hyping his cyclical bullchit call, he has once again returned to saying that it would be a great opportunity. Today marks the first day he dared use the MOABO word for over a year I believe. I also believe it was because some of us have been consistant in pointing out just how he weaseled out of that "moabomumbojumbo" and claimed he was never about calling a bottom and now is right back in the business.

He is all about newsletter sales and spinning. I greatly enjoy pointing out his inconsistancy and lack of candor.

In response to message posted by Jonathon:

Jonathon, that's very funny! There have been many strong rallies in the QQQs since the original big plunge from QQQ $83, and AC has been VERY critical of BB for missing those rallies. Why didn't you bail out on those rallies? How big of a rally are you waiting for--a rally back to $83???!!! What is wrong with the idea of a sideways move out of the "crap stocks" of the QQQs into a good mutual fund with no "crap stocks?" Don't you think you could pick a tech-oriented mutual fund that will beat the QQQs from here over the next 3 to 5 years?

As to your question, I have already answered it many times. AC says I have no proof, which I don't. It's just my opinion:

The CTR was based mostly or solely on technical indicators.

The CB will be based on the indicators that comprise the long-term timing model.

They are mostly different.

I think BB has made some misstatements in his time frames. I think CTRs are generally accepted to be a few months. When the Oct 2000 call didn't work out, he extended the time frame. I mean, when he predicted a CTR in Jan 2000, IT HADN'T STARTED YET. I think cyclical bulls are generally accepted to be a year or so.

They ARE different, even though AC desperately wants to twist the truth and make them the same so it will make it easier for him to bash Brinker.

Don't let him fool you, Jonathon. Everything AC (and Will) says is designed to make Brinker look as bad as possible. The truth is irrelevant to AC and Will.

Kirk and Jimmy62 are also anti-Brinker, but they are much more interested in the truth.

In response to message posted by pjstack:

At least on today's show he indicated that he thought there would be a MOABO, but didn't know exactly when.

Not surprising...

For several years he said he would go to 100% cash IF his model called for a bear market... it didn't signal bear, just more risk (5% upside about equal to 20% downside) so he changed allocation... and the market eventually fell 38%. Clearly well in excess of his expectations or he'd have gone to 100% cash as stated.

As Rande pointed out here in our discussion thread for "real investment talk"... he's missed one "bull opportunity" already:

VTSMX (Total US Stock Market Index)
(3/24/00 - 9/21/01) -38.2%
(9/21/01 - 3/19/02) +27.1%
(3/19/02 - 7/5/02) -14.7%

Yet he was calling for a CT rally in the QQQs for about a year.

Actually, plenty of bull...
