» Kirk - LOVED the IPO mania RIGHT AT THE VERY TOP!

He always made fun of the "new economy" people, so you know he didn't really like tech in Feb. Mar. 2000. He was just afraid the bubble would go on and on and make him look bad.

Brinker wrote in Feb 8, 2000 MT:
: "Firsthand e-Commerce Fund (TEFQX) is the newest addition to the Marketimer No-Load Fund Recommended List on Page four…… We have ALWAYS viewed books, toys and on-line auctions as the tip of the iceberg for electronic business. We believe business-to-business transactions will greatly surpass retail e-commerce including software development tools, database providers, hardware manufacturers and service providers.

We are very positive on the potential for the internet growth track to carry forward through international penetration.

We are hopeful the fund will be able to add many of the best positioned B2B companies going forward. Many of these companies are not yet publicly owned but will come to market in the future."

Yup, he was buying into the IPO mania in internet stocks right at the very top.

dija, how does Brinker's own words printed in his Feb MT jive with the bologna you just wrote?

You could have made dollars in TEFQX just then. You just had to leave the party early. I know cause I did (not on Bob's recommendation).

Time has shown Bob's reasoning to be just running with the pack.

The list of Bob's monthly newletter comments on QQQ since the bulletin is a great chuckle. Keep playing it.

Kirk...posts such as this one of yours would appear better thought out, less self-serving and biased if you completed Brinker's assessment and included his warnings on risk and volatility. I mean, you DO want to present a clear and unbiased picture. Don't you?

In response to message posted by walkerman:

He said it was highly volatile which means it goes in BOTH directions. Volatile doesn't mean it will go straight down... it means is will have large swings such as AMAT sees.

You see, great companies in CYCLICAL industries are HIGHLY volatile. With B2B, Brinker jumped in at the top. He implied that the upside in B2B was going to be HUGE as we were only at the tip of the iceberg.

AMAT is Volatile.
TEFQX was a bloated pig waiting to be stuck as we warned here:

Kirk on B2B http://www.suite101.com/discussion.cfm/i...

My favorite is: "Brinker and B2B....too late folks." (Kirk, December 5, 1999)

http://www.suite101.com/discussion.cfm/i...

And my warning to Pete: "Be careful with this fund, TEFQX, as it is going up sort of artificially. These internet stocks coming public now only release a small percentage of their shares. This means the demand far outstrips the supply of stock shares. The game is to have the insiders sell some of their shares at inflated prices before the price falls back to Earth when maybe the remaining 80 to 90% of the shares hit the market. (Kirk, December 12, 1999) http://www.suite101.com/discussion.cfm/i...

Brinker helps many people. I've talked to a few on the beach lately that are retired, windsurf and have followed Brinker. They will admit they got burned by TEFQX and QQQ and don't really understand what they bought but they feel he taught them enough to not give all their money away to scams like "the heating oil futures guy". They are not upset to under perform doing nothing because they feel they would have lost all their money on their own without Brinker's help. Why don't Brinker and you shills accept this and stop trying to make him into something he isn't which is a great market timer and stock picker?

In response to message posted by walkerman:

"it's too late to sell QQQ AND GO TO CASH." Meaning, it's not good to sell at the bottom. Do you disagree????? He then suggested a sideways move...ie, sell the Q's and buy some quality issues. Do you disagree??????????????

1. I don't know what he said exactly about the QQQs and cash.
2. He's been saying bs about the QQQs and weakness since they broke, what, 50 or thereabouts? Total bs.
3. He's been wrong about the QQQ's for some 60 points.
4. He says he will sell at better prices during a cyclical bull. Why didn't he sell at better prices during all of the counter trend rallies?
5. He did not suggest a sideways move into better issues, he suggested parking for 31 days to get a tax loss sale BUT only if you were in a taxable account. He has advised tax deferred people to hold the QQQs since they were at 83, 71% ago
6. If the QQQs have bottomed in Bob's view, why isn't he buying them? Will the QQQ's be flatlined here forever?
7. Anyone who STILL wants to spin the UNMITIGATED DISASTER of the QQQs is insane, has an agenda, is a Bob or Bobette, wants to mess with other people for smarmy reasons.
8. No matter where the QQQs go from here, they will have broken every trading rule in the book and will always remain an UNMITIGATED DISASTER.

That's the funniest thing you've said in a long time Walkerman. Who are you trying to kid? Everyone here knows you are totally pro-Bob and totally lacking in objectivity.

Walkerman, the stock market is full of risks and you can lose money at any time. That statement makes it ok to lose scads of money on an investment and refuse to discuss it in the future so everyone can learn not to do it again? LOL.

A warning does not make Bob a better stock picker. I think you're being overtaken by punctuation marks, look out they're gaining on you!

Yeah walkerman was the liar that claimed that Brinker was talking about TEFQX in three separated newsletters AFTER his January 2000 call because he was warning subscribers NOT TO BUY IT.

Even for the consumate shill that is a laffer.

Why doesn't someone post that ACT IMMEDIATELY bulletin and have him point out where it describes the risk of that "investment". After all walkerman lied about that until we produced the document. Imagine encouraging someone to invest up to 1/3 of their stock market accumlated money into the QQQS and not bother including a date and a price in the bulletin telling them to do so? Imagine not having a stop loss or an exit strategy??

Why doesn't walkerman tells us another lie about that one?? It's a slow lie day on the Brinker front.
