» Steven_Russell - India's Top 20 Terrorist list? If anybody has any luck locating the Top 20 list of Terrorist names India gave to Pakistan for arrest, that would be great.http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/artic... FRIDAY, JANUARY 04, 2002 We've been giving Pak proof of terrorism: Jaswant KATHMANDU: Foreign Minister Jaswant Singh said on Thursday that from 1994 onward India had been giving evidence to Pakistan that terrorists and wanted criminals were taking shelter in the country. He confirmed that India has presented a list to Pakistan of known militants and criminals, including those involved in the 1999 hijacking of an Indian Airlines plane from Kathmandu and in the 1993 series of bombings in Mumbai. Taking aim at the position, Singh said: "I am unable to understand how moral support can be provided to any immoral activity like terrorism." Singh reaffirmed that India welcomed Pakistani moves against two Muslim militant outfits allegedly behind a deadly attack December 13 on the Indian Parliament but said more action was needed. "I did certainly say steps taken against Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad are welcome steps. But they need to be pursued because the dimensions of the problem are immense," Singh said. "It is our hope that Pakistan will work seriously in what they themselves have announced is their intention," he said.
Here is one of the original articles about the list earlier this week: TUESDAY, JANUARY 01, 2002 Foreign office spokesman Aziz Ahmed Khan said that Pakistan would examine the report and formally react to the list on Tuesday. The list contained names of leaders of militant outfits such as Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashker-e-Taiba responsible for the attack on the Indian Parliament, hijackers of the Indian Airlines plane in 1999, Pakistan-based terrorists responsible for violence in Punjab and main accused in the 1993 Mumbai-blasts - Dawood Ibrahim and Tiger Memon.( PTI ) -- posted by Steven_Russell
