The major problem with a 6,000 year old date for mitochondrial Eve is that she was certainly no more modern than Archaic Homo sapiens. Another problem is that she was and she was ancestral to only Homo sapiens sapiens, on a different line than the one that gave us Homo sapiens neanderthalensis.

But also, after about 35,000 years ago, no evidence exists for the presence on Earth of any of these many other type humans than Homo sapiens sapiens.

This tree below shows some of those humans who have come and gone, most long before mitochondrial Eve. Quite a few of these other kinds of humans would have been late contemporaries of Mitochondrial Eve. But all except for her direct descendants went extinct.
