Company 401k Plans

I try to just stick to the basics when it comes to saving for retirement. Keep your saving goals simple and realistic and you will more than likely succeed. For many, a job's retirement plan is the best place to start saving for your retirement because it basically forces you to save. So even if your job's retirement plan isn't a #1 , most people would still do better maxing out their retirement plan. Case in point... currently Americans are spending more than they earn! So for those that don't have the will power to save on their own, a job's retirement plan would be perfect for them. The money is deducted from their paycheck, goes into their tax deferred retirement plan, and chances are they probably won't even miss the money.I still have a couple of ideas in my head for future articles but haven't had much time to write them down. Lately, I've been working to improve my web site, adding color and making it easier to navigate. After the holidays, I'll be sure to get back on the horse and write something pertaining to 401(k) plans. Thanks again for the nice comments. It's nice to end off the year that way. I try to make every post worth while to read making this thread a powerhouse of 401(k) information. Thanks for the update on the links. I've noticed a lot of links (not just mine) added since I've last checked. Sometimes, I get so focus on just the investment discussions here at Suite101.com I forget how much more Suite101.com has to offer.I'll do my best to keep my site and this discussion thread with current news. Something to watch for. I know Penelope Wang from Money magazine is currently working on an article listing some useful 401(k) sites. I'll cross my fingers and hope my site will be listed. Besides helping others to lobby for a better retirement plan, another goal of mine is to bring more people to this 401(k) thread.
