Others would also argue that a sideways to down market, without making new highs, over an extended period (a few years) could be considered a bear market. The Wilshire 5000 may be a better overall indicator of whether or not we are in a bear market compared to the S&P 500, simply because it includes all stocks. The S&P 500 contains about 75% of the market.

At any rate, I'm up 7% on QQQ, but that is ytd. I bought a little at 74, some more at 62 (or maybe it was 64, I forget) and put on the full load at 55. See, I just wipe out my whole online portfolio on 12/31 and start watching everything ytd for 12 months.-- posted by RamblinMan

After you passed out last night, I came home and found that many had emailed asking me to boot you AND to change the title. Some thought it was an insult to Jerry Springer!
What I DID do was change the title to "Paul Joslin and Jerry Springer" and let that stand for the rest of the evening. I saw that some got the idea that they CAN answer facts with facts and post a reply to Rande that doesn't bash him for his way of presenting facts. I consider the effort a success.
Your name and post numbers have been sent to management along with requests from many members to have you banned so I would suspect they will remove your posting rights. IF you want to throw yourself at the mercy of management, then you can write jason@suite101.com and make ammends. As far as I am concerned on the issue, you can kiss my assets.
Personally, I find you to be dishonest and not worth bothering with and I would have no problem if you are banished.
