Well, any guesses how bad this revision will be?

1. Entry - lower again (has to be, it's now historical)
2. Timeframe - longer again
3. Target - this could make lots of people howl if this ends up being lower.

I'm not sure what advantage there is to moving up the date--certainly he doesn't know what is going to happen or he would have been out of these QQQ's a long while back. Perhaps a lower price--longer time frame. "Wow, its about to take off" -as Mark liked to say in the upper 60's.

Perhaps though as I suspect there will be great emphasis on the anniversary of his Jan.2000 call and scant mention of the QQQ debacle. At least I guess he won't have to shut down his website this time. LOL

On free summary page (you get what you pay for--David K. does a much better job) I found it interesting that it lists some things that Bill Flannigan had to say. Funny reading, especially on the web page of a guy who does a lot of prognosticating himself.

.......Mitch has been listening to those TV Financial Pundits. Historically, they say, the first lowering of rates triggers a 15%-30% market surge over the next 6 months. He goes on to ask if Bob would consider this a valid prognostication of a counter-rally? Bill told him not to bet on this CNBC person, or any other prognosticator. He encourages Mitch not to live according to the predictions of the pundits and instead consider being an index based, long-term investor.

Too bad Bob doesn't listen to Bill Flannigan, he could learn something about index based, long-term investing as is stated on Bob's own page. Bob has become a failed market timer with this QQQ trade that has cost so many of us BIG bucks. Like I posted last week, when asked about the trade, Bill said he knew nothing about the "particulars" of it so I knew that I should not be in the trade either....If Bob doesn't even give Bill a free comp issue every month, why should I have one? Bill does the show and should at least know about the market timing, QQQ BS.

My sympathies. Indeed, the trust in Brinker as a conservative adviser has been broken. Conservatism was the reason for listening to him in the first place. You might want to check out my previous posts for a possible method to relieve some of the pain. Others have criticized me on this board. It seems that they think I some sort of day trader or gambler for taking a prudent defensive position in a Bear market. They also think that the approach is too complicated. I'm not selling a newsletter, I'm simply telling everyone what I have done to protect against further loss and benefit from whatever upside is likely to follow a bottom. However, if you've already committed a substantial portion of your retirement to this trade, it might not be feasible. But, simply selling out your position at what is likely to be near a bottom seems unwise.

I'm sure that others would benefit from a practical discussion of strategies for someone in your position. I've outlined mine. Are there any others?

If his contract is up, as some have mentioned, and given recent events, what do you all think about this scenario?:

Flanagan hosts the show for the next two weeks. Then an announcement will come forth from the network that the show is over. In other words, we've heard the last from him.

This way, he doesn't have to answer to any critics, his website appears as is (not giving any clue that anything has happened), and those hard-core believers continue to fork over $185 per year to learn the fastest method to lose your ass in the market. Or, maybe he'll stop the "Markettimer" also.

What IS SLO219 anyway???... you have me stumped!

I just thought if you were so good at predicting the future, then why did you follow Bob in the first place? Second, how would you know that your shorts would work? I think we might have a massive CT rally tomorrow and then you would be one cooked goose, hurting even more!

When investing, it is OFTEN good to forget the past and just look ahead. WHat makes sense NOW? What you paid for something has no bearing on the outlook for the future.
