Now don't just flat out lie. I can take a little spin but geesh only Brinker himself would claim that drivel.

A) as far as I know Brinker never said to sell 100 percent of anything this year except QQQ's last summer at 84--the low of the summer.

His call that you give him credit for was EXCLUDING the nasdaq, his current market of choice which he is quite bullish in. He said He didn't have a clue about the Nasdaq--it was not part of his call and it could not be timed. He actually pushed B2B and B2B funds at that time. He recommended a HOLD on Msft. He was friendly to tech--saying his call was based on the S&P.

For you to claim he sold out of tech in January says that you A) weren't aware of his call or B) are just spinning to make the Brinkster look good. I rather think B.

Now the truth is he probably got people to hold more tech than anything else and especially B2B junk--his busiest thread during the Jan-Mar time frame. He said it was "different" yeah right. smile

So what he did was cause people to dump dow stocks--S&P index funds--buy/hold tech in that 40 percent they kept--greatly hindering their performance.

He never ever espoused 100 percent sale of tech--and you know that. Why lie?

He did however send each and every subscriber a special bulletin--the only one I ever heard of to buy QQQ's. He added to their tech holdings --which were already skewed too high I would bet and that was about 35% higher than QQQ's are now.

So if you are going to spin--remember Liberty that this is not Brinker's site where Bs favorable to his image is allowed to stand and truth is abolished.

Now want to try again with some truth?

AS I said before Slo--You have a plan. In all honesty I think it much more complex than necessary and unlikey to work as you believe. Like plays on a football field--flea flickers look better on paper than they do in the game. Hope it works for you.

Not at all Pilgrim (feel like John Wayne). Its just not a site where you can spin with impunity. I think that Brinkerbot place has only positive posts allowed. Justa's thread is dead on SI and Brinker's threads are no more so I suppose you will have to have some credibility or post on the Brinkerbot yahoo censored site. Goodluck, come back if you want honest dialogue.

I understand that is the basis of BB's QQQ recommendation, but I DO NOT understand why bear market X has to act the same as bear market A, B, C, D etc. If the bad news on earnings, etc., continues to pour in (I'm certainly not predicting it WILL continue to pour in, mind you) why can't the Nasdaq just keep falling? Like a fool, I still invested because I knew Brinker knew a lot more about it than I did, but because of my doubts I only put in 5% of my total portfolio.
Does anybody understand what Brinker was looking at, or what "market internals" there are, that would say there HAS TO BE a counter-trend rally?

Absolutely. You may realize, doing the math and looking at your own portfolio, that a 30-40% correction in your QQQ position impacts your portfolio by about 4-5% to the downside. But many folks here "don't get it."

I saw that you posted the math. Walkerman posted the math. Today, I posted the math.

But, it doesn't get through to some on this thread. They're too far gone.

You mean you actually have to give a reason for what you believe? Glib statements and broad platitudes don't cut it? Man, this place is tough. Next thing you know, you'll be saying it's all designed to encourage growth and learning.

Kidding aside, there are a couple of possible outcomes to a good, mature debate, both positive:

1. You will find your position challenged to the point where you ultimately change your mind and views on the subject. It's called teachability and it's one of the secrets to a healthy, happy, mature existence.

2. Your position will be strengthened through the rigors of intelligent and thoughtful discourse as it stands the examination of debate.

The alternative is the kind of defensiveness and denial that perpetuates the misconceptions. Dad used to say that the first one to say "F-you" loses the debate (and I've lost quite a few in my lifetime). The point being that when you run out of viable arguments, the last resort is to lash out. I'd add another indication of defeat to the list: call it the "I'm taking my ball and going home" reaction.
