» Will_L - Btw --Trade is a Misnomer

You guys like Mark et al, like to refer to Brinker as being "mostly out of the market" except for these QQQ bear market counter trend rally trades. You realize this current situation is no more than a trade than kissin your sister is a date outside of Arkansas.

There is no way on this green earth that Brinker will issue a sell signal until this sucker is profitable. If it takes forever--so be it--He'll just stop talking about it in the newsletter if necessary, but he will never sell unless he can "claim" a profit. Therefore it is not "a trade" . Those participating are too late to jump off the boat and are simply buying and holding, hoping for the best.

Hmmm...attackers...I see your point. Hadn't thought of that. It's too bad that honest citizens have to lose their freedoms due to the activities of the unscrupulous. If this site does go to a pay-email rule, do you think there will be a grandfather clause?

In response to message posted by Happy:

I like the S&P 400 mid cap index and the S&P 600 small cap index where they are available and a total stock market index fund is not. In my case, I go 70% S&P 500, 20% S&P 400 mid cap, and 10% S&P 600 small cap...covers all the bases well.

Please, I hope The Suite does not banish members who use free ISPs as I do. I believe that there are way many more honest users of free ISPs than dishonest ones and cheats.

I use a free ISP because it is FREE and it saves me almost $300 annually.

Don't worry; my first name really is Dennis and my last name really does begin with the letter L. Click on my handle up there next to the word "Author:", and you'll see my real NetZero e-mail address, which I have had for the better part of three years now. And I don't even post under an alias...8-)

In response to message posted by Happy:

"had these stocks not paid a 6% dividend, one would suspect their stock prices would have gone up an incremental 6% more per year."

That's an interesting speculation, but you must then ask, why did the S&P companies pay such high dividends? The answer is because they HAD to. Otherwise the stock prices, in that high-inflation environment, would have plummetted.

In response to message posted by DennisL:

We are speculating on speculating which gets to be a waste of time sometimes.... My method is to shortcut the whole process... I require some to send me a valid phone number and then I spend a dime and call it. I might guess that the suite would have your social security number or credit card number as a way to identify you.

Of course, I just hope we don't have too many attacks and then it isn't a problem. Usually, if you are honest and above board, then there is no real reason for people to attack in a sneaky way as they are allowed to have their say in a direct way.

We don't have anything to hide and if you like the way something is done elsewhere, we won't ban all discussion of "elsewhere" under some lie. I will hope you tell me what we can do to improve to be more like "elsewhere" as that is what competition is all about. I'll try to do what I can given our resources to effect positive changes, but there are no promises.

Have you ever thought about using the Schwab 1000 fund? Accomplishes the same thing.

Dennis, I wasn't talking about an investment strategy, only a way to track the performance of the various sectors of the market.
My investment strategy is 100% sp500(vanguard). Lump summed in, in 1982 and have hardly sold a share since. Shares up about 1300% in that time.

I am looking at my "No-Load Fund Investor"
The Schwab 1000 SNXFX Gr.& Inc. was down in November -8.5% and received a portfolio distribution of 20%.
It is down YTD -7%.

Karin,
Did Schwab 1000 really give out a 20% capital gain distribution? Vanguard sp500 been closer to 1% these last few years.
