Good luck! REMEMBER: This is not advice to buy or sell. I am just "talking about it" as I don't want to be held accountable for anyone's gambling. Overall, you should manage your total portfolio on an asset allocation basis, often with the aid of an investment professional. Within an asset allocation, I find it rewarding and fun to have 1 to 5% in "speculation" where using TA on experiments is a reasonable choice. In my newsletter portfolio, which I recommend for perhaps 5 to 20% of an equity allocation for the top of your investment risk pyramid, I manage many investments like this where I use some TA to try to get better prices to buy and sell. -- posted by Kirk » Hu - Re: Re: Re: This thing sounds like a scam, if I ever heard of on In response to message posted by Happy:Voila! About 90% of wild cat wells come up non-commercial. But, there is that 10% chance. I don't know if it will fly Monday, but, since I still own most of my position, I sure hope so. -- posted by Happy » Hugs - Re: Wild-catting In response to message posted by Happy:Don't know for sure where or how you're formulating the 90% figure from, but it evidently isn't from the neighboring deep water exploration block. Perhaps like quite a number of other people, you simply haven't heard of, or done much investigating into their 100% success ratio. Or, of their attempt to negotiate a piece of the action on the shallow water block that BOWG now has. Considering the secrecy with which they have been gaurding their own discoveries and success where they are now, do you think maybe they knew something that a lot of the rest of us didn't (and apparently still don't)? Sure, there is indeed a speculative risk here. But frankly, I think the real issue is not so much whether there will be a commercial discovery on the block. Hence, the super strong support level on the stock. The greater question is really... how big are the gas fields that are there? There's a fair amount of speculation that they could be super gigantic, surpassing even that of the adjacent block, and easier to bring to the hungary Indian NG market. I also think the uncertainties of not knowing how or even if this deal was going to materialize has kept a certain amount of selling pressure on the stock. Some of that just got vaporized with this latest announcement. Is a market cap of 50+ million dollars for this new company realistic? Given the growth potential and free carry written into the deal, all day long. I'd have to conclude at this point that the stock is clearly undervalued at 1.25. A move higher in the very near future is quite likely, probably for half a dozen reasons I can think of but don't care to expound upon. How much higher, or how quickly it gets there is hard to say. Probably the two's, if and when more word of it starts to spread. (Maybe we'll see just how efficient the markets really are.) That's about all I reckon I'll say about it. Chances are none of this is knew for anybody that has had any sort of inkling to follow this stock (for whatever reason.) Oh yeah, one more thing... Many, many kudos to the Northfield Capital team responsible for all the hard work that must have been involved in putting this deal together. Hallelujah! -- posted by Hugs » Happy - Re: Re: Wild-catting In response to message posted by Hugs:I think it is safe to assume the Northfield Capital Team put this deal together to benefit themselves. If we are lucky, and not too greedy, we might be able to profit by going along for the ride. Most will stay too long at the party. If this area has a high probablility of producing commercially viable wells, why would anyone have sold their 5% interest for a penny stock like BOWG? This is why they call it wild catting. Anyone who has worked in the oil patch, and I have, knows ajacent parcels may have completely different characteristics. One thing you can be certain of "there is more here than meets the eye". No one should be so naive as to think otherwise. -- posted by Happy » Hugs - Re: Re: Re: Wild-catting In response to message posted by Happy:"If this area has a high probablility of producing commercially viable wells, why would anyone have sold their 5% interest for a penny stock like BOWG?" The way in which you've worded that, and the perception it communicates of what just happened, is probably a good indication that it may take a little bit of time for a lot of people to adjust to the change. (Which is one more reason why it's going to take time for it to spread it's wings and fly.) One thing you can be certain of "there is more here than meets the eye". ...ain't that the truth. -- posted by Hugs » Kirk - Re: "Watch this phoenix fly" In response to messageposted by Hu: Author: Hu Voila!
