» Phish - DavidK

I wouldn't apply normal TA to this stock, it seems to have a mind of it's own. But I would LOVE to see it go to 50 cents! I sold all the way up last time and dumped the rest (all but 200 shares) at 5.5 on the way down. (thanks Kirk smile Here's hopin' we do it again!

Also, from reading previous quarterlies I think those sales numbers are correct; appears to be a token licensing fee from one arm of the company to another, or something like that. Negligible however you look at it.

Kirk, wasn't the original plan to turn on the revenue portion of the business plan at 250,000 members? That number was recently reached, but the company line nows says something like "whenever it becomes viable."

I find it difficult to believe that this stock will remain in this trading range for very long. But then what the hell do I know???

» Phish - Volatility

Kirk is soooo right. This thing moves crazy. I'm using nothing but Reno and lottery money.

I hold almost every stock that I buy (sorry ABF) but I LOVE to trade BOWG!

» Happy - Alright I'll be the straight man

It occured to me that one might be able to get an estimate of the value of bowg from examining Kirk's experience.

Kirk, if you add up all the profits you have gotten from e-commerce on Suite 101 and multiply that by 1000, the number of editors, what do you get for potential earnings?

I say potential because it is highly unlikely the other 999 editors would be as productive as you.

Norm...
guess what.
That is info even I won't share with our management unless the number of zero's after my salary and option package at Suite101.com sees a significant increase.
I ain't no fool and know what is valuable information. 8)

BTW, someday people will learn that my "job" here is to help you learn to use the web to find links on investing. It is NOT about free advice worth a fortune. I guess I should be complimented that some of the regulars keep trying... and I get to keep giving links or a wise-arse retort rather than an answer you are looking for.

» Kirk - Piggy....

You were right!

The stock is pretty darned close to his 50¢ prediction!

Ouch!

Vegas money for most, but still no fun to see it go down even if your basis is very low.

» Kirk - Helping Charities

Do you have a charity you work with that could use some money?

Suite101.com is now working with charities where you can donate 50¢ to your charity just by sending a SuiteCard

Click for Details

Click on one of those stamps and you get to send a SuiteCard to a friend and the Charity gets a 50¢ donation. Suite101.com sends along a pitch to join us to the person getting the card. IF that person joins, then Suite101.com donates ANOTHER $2 to the charity!

This could be a HUGE winner for your school to raise money for a field trip or party or school supplies. Perhaps your church wants to raise some funds?

IF you are a person that can make this happen for your charity (or will make it happen), then email me and we can get your charity in this program. I DO NOT want to do cold calls...too time consuming and there are many that want in on this program.

mailto:KirkLindstrom@ix.netcom.com

We have people that can help you get the word out in newsletters so your members learn to use the SuiteCards and earn donations for your charity.

Lets say you have 100 members in your PTA.
Here is what you could earn:

100 join Suite101.com $2 x 100 = $200
They send 10 postcards 50¢ x 1000 = $500
Total earned is $700!
Now lets say one in 10 that get a post card join..
Now the charity earns another $200!
Total earned is $900!

(between now and Oct 23, 2000 the limit to earn by any single non profit is $20,000)

» dewam - FREE $100, BUT NO TRADES

I took E-trade up on that "open up an account, and we will give you $100" offer. They paid, I'm happy. On 8-26 I put in a limit order for BOWG@ 11/16. When they went decimal, I bumped it all the way up to .69. Every day I call and ask why thousands of shares trade at or below my limit, yet I never get filled. They say the market maker can do whatever it wants, and it does not want to sell me any shares. Is this an E-trade problem? I never had this problem with Schwab. I do remember Kirk having problems a while back. This is entertainment/education money. Entertainment if it goes up, and another education if it goes bust. I have always heard that the bulletin board stocks were not well controlled, but I always thought the higher priced orders got filled first. Maybe I should have said the bulletin board stocks were too well controlled. Den

» Hugs - filling orders

My own experience in trading this stock (and I don't know if it applies universally to all otcbb stocks, although I suspect that it might) is to say that the only way to buy somewhat close to the bid is to "catch it" at a time when there is a rush to sell orders hitting the market. In other words, there has to be some real volume trading that day. On slow days, you might as well say that it is impossible to buy near the bid.

As far as any effort to buy at 11/16, or even .69, I think that there may have been a grand total one trade of 2000 shares that traded at 21/32 a few days ago. Just what price do you think the market makers are buying at? If you think that they going to sell you at 11/16 or .69 if they are only buying at that same price, well, they would only do that if they were fairly confident that they could buy them cheaper later.

I believe there were a number of people with GTC orders in at 11/16 for a long time, and never filled. The shares that the market makers were buying at 11/16? Well, I confess that I did bag a few at .70 a few weeks back when nobody else wanted them. (Think I'll sit on them a while....). But, that may have been a fluke. .74-.78 cents was the more common price to be paying for them lately, and I took a few there as well.

Too bad I bought so many back so quickly at higher prices after selling them higher, but, c'est la vie. Live and learn, as they say. Just maybe I'll be a little smarter next time. It ain't over 'til it's over, and I ain't done with it. We'll see how it all comes out in the long run, eh? The sub-buck shares may look a little different 6 months from now. Average cost for almost anybody that owns it is higher than it's trading at, so there's no real rocket science involved in figuring that out. Just how tightly held the shares are will only start to show after it starts headed north again.

But, given how many orders went unfilled at 11/16, it really shouldn't be a surprise to anybody to look at a chart and see that it may have very well been skimming and skipping accross the bottom the last few weeks. If so, you might just kiss any chance for buying at 69 cents goodbye after today.

It's true that if the market makers don't want to sell you, even for a price that they are offering it for, they don't have to sell you. It took three phone calls and over 20 minutes to get a "partial fill" on an order placed at the ask today at 25/32. Compare that to an "instant fill" on a limit sell order that I had the other day. (Okay, so what if I was messing around a little trying to lower my tax basis... it only cost me a little, and a few week ago, it saved me a little.)

But, it looks to me like it's about time to hold 'em and see if there's any action headed our way.
(I ain't sayin' nuttin' about buying 'em any more. Just wait until they have a revenue if you want to be "safe." No doubt I'll still have a few to sell you.)

» Slick - Good to hear from you hugs...

We managed to finally fill an order @ .74 yesterday, but, like many I trust, were unable to fill @ .69 ( arbitrary price, but it has a nice ring to it)

I've been told BOWG finally has some revenue ( 10Q statement) albeit, not much. But, as per our agreement, I owe you a buck. (:>)

Our average is about 2.5 , but we're a patient lot at our house. 6 months from now, maybe... hope to hear more from you.
