Price excited me, so I sold some BOWG today at 1.21. For what it is worth, the shares seemed to be snapped up as soon as I offered them at bid. Looking at the chart of this stock, it has certainly leveled off. Can't tell if this is base building before another move up or topping out. Fundamentally, this is some kind of natural gas play, and natural gas has been very strong lately. This stock is clearly a Las Vegas bet. In the end even I believed in Nas 7000 before any serious correction and I was always a bear. I remember an investment seminar I attended with a friend in 1999. They were spouting Dow 20-30,000 talk. In October and November the stock traded in a straight line--nice basing action. Pennies often have year lows near the end of the year and October-December is tax selling time more so among penny stocks than others. So you have nice base and year ending soon. Good time to buy. Ah, but isn't that part what's made BOWG such a wild and interesting (i.e., exciting) play? Besides, having been here a while, I don't think a buck and change strikes this "greedy little group" as being very exciting... or greedy. Greed is Good. And if this "greedy little group" (it does have a certain ring to it, doesn't it?) indeed pulls a rabbit out of their hat (as someone here suggested)... we ain't seen nothin' yet. This begs a question. Are there (m)any "minority stock holders" left anymore? After all, is there any reason that anybody (other than Kirk, who some might contend to be rather close or even a part of said "greedy little group") would stick around after such an incredible huge run as we've just seen? After 2 (or has it been 3?) years of feeling like the little floater in the toilet bowl that just won't go down no matter how many times it's flushed, it might be easy to conclude... not very many. It's psychological warfare, for sure. But contrary to what I might have thought a short month ago, it would no longer surprise me if this "little turd" didn't return to 75 cents for a very, very, very long time. (Sure, it could happen in a matter of hours or even minutes. Heck, I don't know. I'm only saying... Don't be very surprised if it doesn't.) Peculiar trading, with much of the normal "hype" we might expect to accompany it noticeably lacking. Seems those who might know something aren't saying much. A relatively "weak" press release, that might have been used only to quash certain rumors. With so much convential wisdom holding it down... what's the right angle to be looking at this from? (OTC Bulletin Board: BOWG - News) announced today that it is engaged in preliminary negotiations to acquire a minority interest in an unproved overseas offshore natural gas and oil exploration block. No agreements or letter of intent have been signed and no final terms for any transaction have been agreed to. The underlying rights to the exploration block are the subject of ongoing negotiations. A transaction will be subject to due diligence by the Company if and when a letter of intent and agreement are entered into. The Company has not conducted any material due diligence to date. There can be no assurance that any agreement will be entered into to acquire the minority interest. In addition, even if a transaction is entered into, the transaction would involve material risks to the Company, including the possibility that no commercial quantities of natural gas or oil will be discovered on the exploration block. Simple language, they seem to want to use the shares as currency to buy into a wildcat oil and gas deal. If they buy up all the shares on the market at price Xi and reissue (sell) them later along with many new shares at price Y, then they have an immediate profit of Y-Xi. Try to figure out what Y is and you will have your key to the stock. If the deal falls through, we already know the stock can bottom below cash per share value. Overall, you should manage your total portfolio on an asset allocation basis, often with the aid of an investment professional. Within an asset allocation, I find it rewarding and fun to have 1 to 5% in "speculation" where using TA on experiments is a reasonable choice.
