We will see. You did not say which direction it could move.

» davekro - Which way

Steve:
I drink tea, but use tea bags, so I have no experience reading tea leaves. I am still holding my .17 shares a bit longer. I HOPE it pops up tomorrow. But I don't even have aguess.
Anyone with a coin willing to make a guess?

This ( longer ) press release is in tempo with Decembers'.Is this the time for Suite101 to be bought by someone, or ...what? Find revenue somewhere ? Or are they openly courting some competition?

...efforts to re- direct its operations currently under consideration by its Board of Directors, it is inviting companies and other persons with a possible strategic interest in Suite101.com to consider entering into discussions with the Company looking to a possible business combination, restructuring or other reorganization transaction. The Company is seeking initial responses on or before January 25, 2002.

Why Jan 25th , I ask myself? Oh Well...upwards and onwards...I'm not selling... until someone makes an offer I can live with. smile

» David_Korn - Press Release

Tomorrow's price movement is anyone's guess. However, I think we can all agree on one thing based upon the press release; namely, we need to redouble the effort to click Kirk's sponsors:

"Previously, the Contributing Editors had received compensation of up to $25 per month, based on the number of articles written. As of December 31, 2001, the Company terminated the payment of the monthly compensation to Contributing Editors."

bowg has put itself in play.

what does this do to the stock? quick back of the envelope analysis: there are 13 million shares outstanding; what is the value of the software and membership list? if you think it is more than $6 million or so you hold. if you think it is less than $6 million you sell.

answer is obvious to me.

good luck to all.

» Kirk - Re: BOWG Value

In response to message posted by Thruhiker:

Don't forget the cash they have in the bank... about $4M I believe... but worth taking a look at the financial statements before you tally the value.

This http://biz.yahoo.com/p/b/bowg.ob.html
says 33ยข per share cash

I wonder if Amazon or Barnes and Noble or some other book sellers think we'd be useful for selling books? It seems the whole site, 1000 editors working for free, might have some value just for recommending books for their topic. Would this be comparable to a retail outlet to sell books? What does a new book store cost? I think there is synergy here but is it worth $1M, $10M or $100M?

In response to message posted by Kirk:

correct, as of 9/30 they have $4 million in cash or 33 cents a share. which is just about what mr market is valuing the whole company at.

congrats to those of you who picked up some of those bargain shares back in teens.

» Slick - Are The Nervous Nellies ...Gone ?

Greetings BOWG shareholders smile (How's it going?)

I can't believe I'm the only one commenting today, on what I think was some kind of watershed event. That 's right...the smart people who picked up some " cheap" shares last fall, are now reaping their windfall. Or are they?

You know I love to speculate, so here's how I see it. Someone wants Bowg...how do I know this ?

They love picking up the cheap shares , and THEN...keep raising the bar , the rest of the day. Notice the steady rise after the opening bell...until it culminated in 400K shares traded. I know we're not talking big time money...but nevertheless...slightly awesome.

My next question is...Do you really think the Bradshaws would sell their pet project ( they're already rich ) for ...a buck ? That would give them 6-7 million for their efforts...since 95 , I believe. My resounding reply to that is.....( maybe ) not likely! So, just what is it worth, ohh Slickmeister? Sorry folks , I got no crystal ball...but Mr. Market is about to have its say about that question. And I love speculation...after all , that's what a " gambling stock " like BOWG is all about.

We live in interesting times

As one of those Victor Kiam types (I didn't just like the idea of the company, but I decided to work there and buy its stock), I have to believe that the bigwigs (those with major stock positions) are looking to get the stock back above 3 bucks, which is where the stock initially went public.
