» Slick - Re: Two Questions

In response to message posted by Dave_San_Jose_CA:

Ok Big Dave ...I'll weigh in here FWIW

First ...here todays chart form Yahoo:

http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=BOWG.OB&d=c...

Seems to me, someone wanted 22K + shares and they were willing to pay .40 Then, the bandwagon jumpers ( all 7k +) took it up to as high as .44 Then, the last sale ( 3K + ) brought it back to reality at .31 As I look at this from a non-professional view...the overwhelming conclusion to me ,is a derth of sellers. Nothing new here , since there are days when no sale occur. NO buyers or sellers---or sellers that are willing to meet the ask price. Relatively simple case of supply and demand.

But... is there still a possibility of shorts out there? If yes...then a lack of sellers could possibly "squeeze" those short coverers into a higher price at which to " buy to cover". Interesting situation. I, like Kirk , have my last few buys in the plus side. smile Still , long way to go.

As long as I got the floor here...just who would be interested in owning Suite 101? AOL springs to mind, as they seem to be one of the few Internet organizations that make money, who might be interested in the kind of " user " based content providers that is the hallmark of Suite 101. Not to mention the infrastructure that corporate has so diligently provided and improved on.

Interesting times , indeed, Dave.

» Kirk - market makers up to old tricks

I saw that BOWG was down 10% this AM on 100 shares.

<img src=http://www2.marketwatch.com/charts/int-a... width=452 height=366>

Lets see, 100 shares at 27¢ is $27. IF I used Schwab, that would have been less than the commission. Thus, it was a head fake by the market makers to see if they could force out a few cheap shares for a quick profit as they had a buyer.

Sure enough, the buyer got impatient and we have BOWG now up 33% to 40¢ on 20,100 shares.

Lets see what sort of money we are talking about.
Assume 20,000 shares at 40¢ and you get $8,000 changed hands. This is the type of money one might expect a CEO or other insider at a company that is working with BOWG to invest in BOWG if they "like what they see" after discussing possible business deals.

Whatever the reason we are up over 100% in a very short time, it is nice to see buyers in accumulation mode once again. Those shares I bought at $16.5¢, 18¢ and 20¢ all look pretty good now... but it will still be a way to go before I am back to even on this one.

Kirk,

All you need is a twenty-bagger on this one and you might be up to minimum wage considering all the time and effort you've spent here. smile Here's hoping for a hundred-bagger. You deserve it.

Kirk, I was just wondering whatever happened to the cousin of BOWG, aka, BOUT. Has it been bought out by another company or is it no longer in existence. Thanks big guy.

I believe about.com was bought up by a publishing company of specialty magazines.

In response to message posted by krayn:

About.com was purchased by Primedia, (ticker symbol PRM). http://biz.yahoo.com/p/p/prm.html is a link to more information.

I too have a number of shares in BOWG, but they're under water at the moment, not to mention options that come with being an editor and manager. Hopefully this little rally will be the start of something nice.

» davekro - Baaaa'd timing

I just have to laugh at MY timing. Since I bought BOWG at .1875 months ago, it has been cemented in a range of .16 to .22.

Then a day or two of .23, .24, then seemingly WAY up at .25! I thought wow, no brainer, sell my 5000 shares and wait for the low end of the range to happen again. Two days later it is at .40! Oy Vey. Just the way it goes sometimes...

Namaste,
