Touted as a "very famous analyst known for her market predictions such as the crash of '87", it was never mentioned that she made a disastorous sell call at the absolute market bottom in 1996. If I feel the need to watch one of these "ticker shows", I watch but with the sound off like when I am home working. Elaine definatly deserves to be in the "Sell Signal" category. Her famous call left 1500 or more DOW points on the table from the 5200 level if I remember correctly. She's just another joke now and shows lose any credibility they have left having her on and not mentioning her famous call-from-grace. More on the ticker-shows: They are cartoons as they bring out one fool after another to explain why a market at 8600 or so moves 20 points one way or the other during the day!!! -- posted by Kirk » Lawhawk - Kirk, In percentage terms I can understand why the market can Kirk,In percentage terms I can understand why the market can move 20 points in any direction and it really isn't much. However once the market jumps 100 points in a day, I start to wonder what is going on. I agree about the talking head phenomenon though; anyone can get up on the soapbox and be right sometimes. If you only point to the successes, the numerous failures somehow get convienently left out. Then again, that is what they are supposed to do as "who makes money, other than you, if you keep your money in one place for 20 years? " They sell advertisements to people that want you to pay them commissions. This means buying and selling...

May be this is the right time to rollover my money from an earlier employer to a rollover IRA - a process which will take me out of the market for 2~3 weeks.
