Tricks for posting are listed in "Tim Younkin's Cheat Sheet".
To find that, click on "Links" in the upper right next to the $Money$ and then navigate to the cheat sheet.

PLEASE remember to preview and test all links before you post them to make sure you close all the html.

Officially, you are not allowed to use the HTML other than that listed in the posting window, but we allow it if you show some skills at not messing stuff up! 8) (rules are meant to be bent.)

» DanG_6 - Kirk

Now that this site will, in all probability, get much more active, is there any chance of adding a few features that were available on that "other" site that made "navigation" easier there? I'm thinking the numbering of messages for reference, and of the ability to "reply" to a specific message, and also to be able to tell if there were any "replies" to your own messages. With only a small number of posts visible at any one time, that feature would be very helpful, if it's technically feasible, of course.

» Kirk - Dan, that is high on our list.

Dan, that is high on our list.

IF I could have had that page numbering, and reply feature, I would have had traffic here to smoke your socks with someone fairly famous, but it is too much to track all the posts he gets so he does not YET post and take questions here....Until then, put it in the suggestion thread again as well as send a polite note to our technical guru mailto:kash@smartt.com and explain why you want the change.

I really want the change...so I am behind you all the way!

» tma500 - Colors & Tax ?

Thanks Kirk, I'll stick with the regular format for now. Hi Dan, I made it. Rande, As you know I sold many stocks per BB's call. Many were in non IRA account and many were short term. Do I have to pay the estimated tax on the profits I incurred this quarter? Thanks, Tara

» Rande - Wow!

Wow! It's getting hard to keep up, and that's a good thing. It's truly wonderful to see so many good friends. Hope I'm remembering everything (another item for the "wish list" -- to see the post you're responding to):

Tara -- Scroll back a ways, we had a discussion on estimated tax payments a little while ago, including a link to the IRS website where you can download the appropriate publication on the subject. Bottom Line -- any time you have income not subject to withholding, you should be aware of the possible need for additional withholding and/or the need for quarterly estimated tax payments. If you can't find the previous posts or IRS link, let me know.

Richard -- I still don't have a clue how this site makes money. All I know is, personally I've never seen a penny. Seriously, rumor has it that there IS a plan.

Good bond site -- Bonds-on-line. Quotes, info, glossary, faq, etc. Try it:

Also like the following for municipals:

» JackSwanson - Oil Prices

Rande,

Last we talked, oil was risin', and you told good ole jack not to worry. Well, it hasn't had an effect on the market, or has it. Rande, pal, you never thought we'd see $32 oil did you??
