Can you imagine parents nameing their kid "Gay" especially with the last name "Queen"? The parrallel applies to the phrase "happy hoildays". Happy holidays does not mean what it used to. I and everyone I knew understood it to mean Merry Christmas. Not any more. Happy hoildays is a way of circumventing the word Christmas. Please tell me you grew up in the backwoods of...............if not this country is in worst shape than I thought, but it makes it more clear to me why bush was elected. My best friend won't eat anything that might have been living because his religion forbids it. My girlfriend is Buddhist. The only person I have kept in touch with to the point of meeting to break bread when he is in town from my high school days is Jewish. It is very sad that you can't accept a "Happy Holidays" wish from me and others without finding some political meaning or offense in this wish.
