Wasn't kidding about the 20 million shares trading today...but at half a cent (actually .0049 at the close) that only works out to $100,000.

Another 5 million today, maybe someone is trying to buy the shell.
Do you know how many shares are issued?

» Thruhiker - routine diversification???

i think not!

WASHINGTON, July 11 (Reuters) - Webvan Group Inc. (NASDAQ:WBVN)
Chairman Louis Borders sold 45 million common shares of the
online grocer shortly before Webvan announced it was closing
down, a Securities and Exchange Commission filing said.
Borders sold the shares for 6 cents apiece on June 22,
about two weeks ahead of the July 9 public announcement that
the Foster City, California-based company was ceasing
operations, firing 2,000 workers and filing for bankruptcy
protection.
After the sale, Borders directly held more than 4 million
shares at the end of June, his SEC filing said.
A Webvan spokesman did not immediately return a call.
The company debuted as a publicly traded entity in November
1999, reaching a high of $34 a share.

» Mike_8 - Cellstar Earnings

The following is an edited version of the press release as read in yahoo. The jump in price was not as high as I would like, but another quarter of positive earnings should send the price to book value which is around $3.00. This is just my opinion though.

CellStar Reports Improved Second-Quarter Results

- Net income $5.3 million, $0.09 per share - Consolidated revenues up 2.0%; ongoing
revenues up 5.7% - Gross margin 6.1% - up from last year and from first quarter -
Balance sheet improvement continues for second consecutive quarter

CARROLLTON, Texas, July 9 /PRNewswire/ -- CellStar Corporation (Nasdaq: CLST - news), a value-added
wireless logistics services leader, today reported revenues of $572.3 million for the second quarter ended
May 31, 2001, an increase of 2.0 percent compared to $561.4 million for the second quarter of fiscal 2000.
The Company reported net income of $5.3 million, or $0.09 per diluted share, for the second quarter ended
May 31, 2001, compared to a net loss of $42.4 million, or $0.71 per diluted share, for the second quarter of
fiscal 2000.

Second-quarter revenues from ongoing operations grew to $572.3 million, a 5.7 percent increase from $541.4 million in the prior-year comparable
quarter. The improvement in revenues is due primarily to an increase of $116.4 million in the People's Republic of China (PRC), including Hong
Kong, which more than offset decreases of $43.2 million in Taiwan, due primarily to economic and political turmoil, and $33.7 million in Mexico,
due mainly to reduced carrier promotions.

Gross margin was 6.1 percent of revenues, compared to 5.5 percent for the second quarter of fiscal 2000 and 5.7 percent in the first quarter due
primarily to better pricing and inventory management, and product mix.

Selling, general and administrative expenses for the second quarter were $23.2 million, down from $26.6 million for the second quarter of fiscal
2000 and from $28.7 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2001. SG&A expenses were 4.1 percent of revenues for the second quarter, down from 4.9
percent for the second quarter of fiscal 2000 and from 4.5 percent in the first quarter of fiscal 2001. SG&A expenses in the second quarter of 2001
were reduced by $3.9 million ($2.7 million after tax) due to the recovery of a receivable from a satellite-handset customer for which a reserve was
provided in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2000. Excluding the provisions for doubtful accounts and related recoveries, SG&A expenses remained
essentially flat on both a year- over-year and sequential basis.

In connection with its previously announced intent, the Company restructured its Miami facilities to reduce the size and cost of those
operations, resulting in a charge of $749,538 ($532,172 after tax) primarily related to leasehold improvements.

Asia-Pacific: The Asia-Pacific Region contributed 54 percent of total revenues for the second quarter compared to 43 percent of total revenues
in the prior-year quarter. Revenues were up 32.3 percent to $309.0 million compared to $233.5 million in the prior year. The PRC, including Hong
Kong, accounted for the largest percentage of the region's revenues at $271.7 million, 75 percent higher than last year's second quarter. Growth
in the PRC, where market penetration of handsets is less than 10% of the total population, is being driven by the rapid addition of new wireless
subscribers.
Revenues in Singapore increased by $11.0 million, while revenues in Taiwan declined by $43.2 million, and revenues in the
Philippines were down $8.8 million.

Solaia Ventures Inc SAV
Shares issued 5,997,716 Jul 13 close $0.20
Mon 16 Jul 2001 News Release
Mr. Arndt Roehlig reports
Drilling operations have commenced on the Solaia's South Maysville well
located in Garvin county, Oklahoma, and is currently at a depth of
approximately 1,000 feet of progress. Average ROP of 94.3 feet/hour, 18,000
to 20,000 RPM and 80 PP No. 1200. The company acquired a 5-per-cent working
interest in South Maysville prospect and two other Oklahoma wells in late
June, 2001.
The South Maysville prospect is situated on the southwest flank of a large
broad northwest-plunging anticlinorium in the Pauls Valley Uplift
geological province. Many small- to medium-sized anticlinal and fault bound
traps in this province have been developed to produce prolific amounts of
Simpson oil. It is common for the Simpson 2nd bromide sand, which is the
primary object of the Maysville prospect, to produce in excess of 500
barrels of oil per acre-foot. Further, the Simpson 1st bromide sands also
primary objectives, commonly produce in excess of 300 barrels of oil per
acre-foot.
Solaia's current summer drilling program consists of four wells; the
Coalinga Nose prospect, South Maysville prospect, East Sandy Creek prospect
and East Brady prospect. The Coalinga Nose prospect spudded on July 10 and
is now over 3,000 feet in depth. The East Sandy Creek and East Brady
prospects are expected to spud in late July and mid-August. Solaia chose
each of these joint venture prospects because of the availability of
existing three-dimensional seismic, potential size and the partners
involved in each project.
WARNING: The company relies upon litigation protection for
"forward-looking" statements.

In response to message posted by investorquest:

Thanks IQ for your hardwork on the Penny Picks Portfolio. I think we're all following this thread - it's just hard to say something positive about our stocks when all they do is go down!

I missed this July 10 press release for CIO:

CTI Is Added to the Russell 2000(C) Index

Computerized Thermal Imaging Inc. (CTI) (Amex: CIO) today announced that it has been added to the Russell 2000© Index, a listing produced by Frank Russell Company and widely used by investment managers as benchmarks for investment strategies.

The Russell indexes encompass the 3,000 largest U.S. stocks, ranking them by total market capitalization to create the Russell 3000© Index. The largest 1,000 companies in the ranking comprise the Russell 1000© Index, while the remaining 2,000 companies form the Russell 2000 Index. Membership in the Index is determined by market capitalization rankings, rather than by subjective opinion or committee decisions.

``We are pleased to be included in the Russell 2000, which indicates the progress our company is making and which raises our visibility in the investment community,'' said Richard Secord, CTI Chairman and CEO.....

» 2win - Universal Express up 182% today on high volume

Look at today's volume on my penny stock: 42,594,700 shares!

Up 182.35% today, 92% since contest started.

http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=USXP.OB&d=t

By way of comparison, the most heavily traded stock on the NYSE today was GE with 23,613,700.

Of course it takes a lots less money to make this kind of volume with a penny stock. But even so, it sounds good to say that only three Nasdaq companies had greater volume: CSCO, SUNW, INTC.

Let's hope someone with big money has discovered USXP.OB, and it takes off bigtime.

If I'd really invested, I'd cash in 50% about now.
