More on why CIO spiked 77.4% on Friday on the Med Tech thread:

Nice of them to pump my penny stock contest pick up 77.4% in the last 15 min of trading on Friday so I could have a higher contest entry price!.....Jen

Yeah Jen... Do you have a graphic showing a wood screw? You deserve one as an award!

This chart should preserve what happened:

Here is your award:

Great Jen! You've been very patient with this one!!! Nice to see the rewards being passed out. So, is this spike because of the Russell rebalancing??

You might not win the contest but you migh have a nice gain on shares you've held for some time long before the contest started!

In response to message posted by Kirk:

Well - I've owned CIO since 12/99 @ 3.5, but bought more @ 6 & 7 in 5/00 - so have a ways to break even. Shoulda bought more when it slipped under 3. Am looking towards longterm gains on this one!

Mark - The Fri CIO spike could be due to the Russell rebalancing, since CIO is on the list or it could be due to end-of-quarter pump&dump discussed on the TA thread:

Who knows!.....Jen

Webvan shuts operations, to file for bankruptcy
Mon Jul 09 08:39:00 EDT 2001

FOSTER CITY, Calif., July 9 (Reuters) - Struggling online
grocer Webvan Group Inc. (NASDAQ:WBVN) on Monday said it would file
for bankruptcy protection and had stopped operations,
terminating the employment of its 2,000 workers.
For the past several months, Webvan had acknowledged that
it was in a fight for its survival, as its cash reserves ran
low and operating costs proved higher than planned.
The company said it intends to file for protection from
creditors under Chapter 11 of the U.S. bankruptcy codes.
Webvan said it has no plans to resume operations and it
will pursue an orderly wind-down of its operations and sale of
its assets and business. It also will not implement the
one-for-25 reverse stock split shareholders recently approved.
Instead it expects its common stock to be delisted from the
Nasdaq National Market.
